Found a workaround for adding pitches
-
So I’ve been GRINDING in RTTS. Have a diamond slugger right now. But when I am a pitcher, my guy only had 3 pitches. Couldn’t ever add additional pitches, only replace. BUT!!!! I found a way to get the pitches you want.
I started a new RTTS file and made him ONLY a pitcher! That’s the key! When this happened, my very first bullpen training had “add pitch” option available. I added 2 pitches so that my guy had a 5 pitch arsenal.
Once I learned those pitches, I loaded back into my diamond slugger and BOOM, my guy has the 5 pitches that I selected from my brand new RTTS file.Hope this helps!!!!!!

Not sure why some folks haven't been able to add pitches...I have 5 pitches on my 2-way guy. Once they did the patch I added both in bullpen sessions. Now it gives me choices to replace pitches as well.

I did this very thing when I kept grinding with my two-way player and I couldn’t add a pitch whatsoever. Once I created my pitcher career I was able to add a 4th and 5th pitch within the first two or three bullpen sessions. Then I continued my two-way player career and all 5 pitches were in my arsenal.

Yes - what seems interesting is that whatever pitches you learn seem to be "bound" to your Archetype. So even if you start a brand-new RTTS, early on you get that dialogue with a coach asking what your three pitches are. Doesn't seem to matter what you answer him - when you go into the game, you are going to have the 5 pitches that your other pitcher had. Which, again, speaks to the replayability aspect of the new archetype model. Not sure I'm a fan, but that is how it appears to work at this time.
