Do y'all suggest going for collections already for a no money spent player who plays about 1-2 hours a day? If so, how do you best suggest getting the players and just any other community market tips. Thanks! Also I have the Phillies collection done already because I pulled Realmuto and Nola was cheap.
I would go for it but as a NMS player you to need to accept the fact that it will take a while.

Collections are certainly something you can grind. I'm NMS and have been starting by buying players on teams without diamonds or with just one. Through playing at this point I have 12-20 players for every team from all the packs. Time you put in will just change how quick it gets done.
-
@MLBTS_MLBTS It will. Do you know about how long? I know the Yankees, Dodgers, and Angels will be the hardest ones.

If you don't mind working the market then go for it. Just don't lock players in until you're comfortable with keeping them or go for the collection cards you want. Dee Gordon for the Marlins is a great cheap card, and Eckersley for the A's now that Chapman is gold is solid too. I honestly don't care for the Chipper card, but I want the Soriano 40/40.

@Wes__21_PSN It's just hard for me to play a lot. I'm also not very good and very confused at conquest.

I’m a NMS player. I didn’t play MLB 20, but I did finish collections in MLB 19. It’s a grind for sure. Requires some patience and luck. I flip cards quite often. Haven’t pulled any banger diamonds this year, but I only have 7 teams left to complete. I also grind much more than 1-2 hours per day though. Grinding all the content for free packs helps a ton as I’ve pulled a couple duplicate diamonds and sold them to buy ones I needed

YouTube, check out some vids on how to do it. Once you get the hang of it you can get tons of free packs.

@Scott_LaRock101 Here's the thing, I want that Soriano too but my starting lineup and bench are all diamonds except for Yermin. The only things I can better are my pitchers but I feel like I have a solid squad already.
-
@dutchoven53_XBL I wish I could grind more but I simply can't. Do you advise selling diamonds even if you don't have dupes of them?
-
@Scott_LaRock101 I'll try my best but that Nation of Baseball conquest looks hard, also all the Team Affinity ones.

Totally get that. This is my first DD. I've luckily been able to put a ton of time in and learn, but I think it's worth it regardless.
-
I say go for it. I'm also a NMS player and i'm 3 diamond players away from finishing the AL (Hendricks/Ramirez/ and Bieber) so it can certainly be done. If you learn how to work the market you should have no problem.
-
Like the guy above said, check out some of the collection rewards and see if there are some you really like. Go after them first and if you need to sell a diamond you have in order to complete a collection you want, go for it. My best diamond pull this year was judge from the 1st inning program reward pack so I’ve definitely not gotten anything special. I jumped on purchasing arenado while he was in the low 40s which was clutch

@samguenther1987 Thanks! Any advice for working the market?
-
If you don't care much about getting the Byron Buxton POTM Card then do the moment and get the topps now players and sell them. They go for like 15K each diamond and some golds go for over 10K. I did that and completed about 18 collections. Of course I did get stubbs from other stuff like the 1st inning program and stuff. I am also a NMS player so just play a little and do moments, programs and maybe the big conquest map.
-
@dutchoven53_XBL I definitely don't have enough time to get that live series.
-
@Duke0021520_XBL the conquest maps can certainly look very intimidating, but watch a couple youtube vids and you can blow through a few of them in a good grind session. I definitely understand not being able to spend a ton of time grinding. I do 10 hours days at work so I grind on weekends and a few hours in the evenings after work as a night cap. I’ve finished all the conquests beside the nation, and have a ton of progress toward each team affinity, and I would be considered a “casual” player. I just try to maximize cramming as many different areas of content into the games that I play. I’ve been able to finish TAs and the monthly awards while completing conquest all at the same time
-
@ovk1r_PSN I was told that there's a big collection later on, so I should get that Buxton.

Patience, don't get frustrated if someone undercuts you because your order will go eventually. It takes time but it will pay off. Study the market to see whats moving and what isn't after a time you'll get the hang of it. It may take time but once you have enough stubs you can really get going. I also suggest playing every conquest game that you can for hidden packs/stubs/XP becuase everything adds up. Good luck
-
@dutchoven53_XBL Ok, I'm at around halfway on POTM, finished all Topps Now, and have done various other things except online and conquest. My highest team affinity is like 20% though.
