The PCI is way too small on HOF
-
I have a CAP with 119 contact and 99 Jackie with 121 contact and they both have a minuscule PCI on HOF, comparable to that of a pitcher hitting on All-Star against LS Max Scherzer.
This is especially concerning, seeing as it is an endgame hitter versus an early-game pitcher. If it's this small right now, imagine how small it will be once cards with 120 h/9 and k/9 start dropping, ridiculous.
There's no reason 120 contact should look this small against a LS pitcher on HOF. The PCI sizes on HOF seem more suitable for legend. The probably is AS is huge and HOF is so small, and there's no in between.
HOF PCI needs to be bigger.

It is a tick small. Especially if the speeds are faster. I can’t really tell because maybe the pci just makes it feels faster.
But we all deal with the same pci.

Yeah but it’s either a slugfest on AS or a pitchers dual on HOF, no in between. No reason 120 contact needs to be as tiny as a pitcher batting on AS when no good pitchers are even in the game yet

Contact isn’t the main factor for pci size, vision is the main factor. Contact effects the outer PCI. 99 Jackie has 119 vision, so PCI should be a little bigger. Other factors also include quirks, both for and against the batter.

You’re simply wrong. Vision is outer PCI, I’m solely talking about inner PCI size, which is all contact. Perks also have little to know effect, I’ve got LS Trout to Parallel IV and it’s still stupid small. Like I said, no reason that endgame hitters should be this small versus LS pitchers

idk I think the size just takes adjusting to, I struggled still do, but I'm starting to put up some crooked numbers on hof, just got to watch the ball not the pci

I remember them saying on a stream last year inner is a combo of contact and vision, outer vision only.

I mean Jackie has almost max vision too

While I stand corrected (I didn’t play 20, prior to that vision was the biggest factor for PCI size), the overall size of the pci (both inner and outer) is contributed to with a variety of different factors, including pitcher K/9, confidence, and energy. I wouldn’t say I’m simply wrong, vision is still going to a factor in overall pci size. Low vision, high contact is still going to give you a much smaller pci then high vision/high contact.

Yes that’s how it was in 18 and 19, believe they changed it in 20

Ranked seasons.

I honestly hope they don’t change the PCI size
I just fear that if they do that, it may totally screw up hitting that actually feels great when you piece up pitches.
Not gonna be that guy that says practice or get good, but, I’m a huge advocate of taking BP on legend before hopping into RS
-
I appreciate you guys being the sacrificial lambs while I take my time in RS climbing up the ranks.

It's complaints like this that cause them to change the game and mess everything up. It's on HOF which means you're facing higher caliber players and should be skilled enough to hit with that PCI without any issue. In other words, this isn't a game issue....its a you issue.

The funny thing is that the area of contact (the yellow buckshot in the feedback) is similar to last year, it's just the PCI itself that shrunk. That's a psychological thing, the fact that it's smaller implies that you have a smaller area to make solid contact. But that's not the case, it's purely visual. So that's interesting and there are a few ways to work around it. One would be to only use circles or diamonds and fade out the inner and outer PCI. Another option would be to fade out the center and inner PCI so that you only see the outer PCI. You mentioned correctly before that this affects the ability to foul off pitches and is coherent with the vision attribute and the pitcher's K/9 attribute. So this option would make it harder to square up the ball in the middle, but it does counter that psychological aspect and give you confidence simply because the PCI covers a significant larger area of the plate.

PCI size is perfect imo. If anything AS needs to be a touch smaller.

I've started doing friendlies on legend to get the same effect.

I don’t get bothered by the PCI. I turn it off entirely

It seems on hall of fame there is also very little difference between 102 mph and 95mph
