Play me or trade me

New name idea for your next game...Ride The Pine 2022...you too can go from MLB starter to sitting on the bench just because we can't figure out AI to make your manager know his hiney from a hole in the ground. Use the same criteria that got me called up to the show as a starter to keep me starting past the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Yeah, the manager AI has always been questionable. And "questionable" is really a polite term for it to be honest.
Some examples from past versions: The manager tells you to steal a base (which you suck at because your speed is low). You do, you get thrown out. Wash-rinse-repeat - finally you get called into the manager's office and you are benched for getting caught too much. Another past version example: you're the best OVR on your AA team and leading the team in multiple offensive categories. You manager gets a wild hair up his backside and decides you need to switch positions. You say no, you don't want to play Catcher. You ride pine for half the year. And it goes on and on. Don't get me started about the trade logic.
As far as I can tell SDS hasn't really improved the quality of the manager AI. But they have significantly increased the variables and complexities by introducing the Archetype system. And, lo-and-behold, situations like you describe "Ride The Pine 2022".
Sorry man. Get used to it is the best I can say. About 3 or 4 versions ago I finally learned to stop caring about the AI manager. I get an AB - I do my best at that AB. I get to pitch - I do my best. I get to field - same thing. Accept that the AI is going to do boneheaded stuff and there's nothing I can do about it.
