Umbrella Conquest Struggles

I was surprised to see that quite few people are struggling with the umbrella Conquest for 1st inning. It's actually super easy if you don't try to take an enemy HQ until you have conquered nearly the entire map. Then pick the HQ you want to play first, and increase your armies until it's at a difficulty that you are comfortable with. Knock them out on rookie difficulty if you want. It's easy! Just concentrate on taking up space, isolating HQ'S, and reenforce perimeter s to 2 to 3 armies to prevent loss of territory. LMK if this worked for you. It actually goes very quickly if you do it this way.

Funny, I actually just headed straight for each stronghold, capped it and left 3-4 fans there as a safety net. Map is small enough that you can pretty much reach each strong hold each turn and play the stronghold game on vet. Then its just a matter of simming to clean up.
After turn 1, take all fans in your stronghold and move them to your front line with reinforcements....sim to the stronghold, win game. Then next turn reinforce the edge facing another stronghold and move all fans (minus a few from the previous stronghold) there and repeat. Steal fans for a turn or 2 for the mission requirement.
My biggest obstacle was the temporary glitch that crashed conquest when attacking the angels.

I like your method better tbh. I think your way could probably be much faster since capturing a stronghold would really increase renforcements. Very nice! I might run it again and do it your way. Is it repeatable? I'm not on atm and don't know if I could get xp a second time through.

I also did the "straight for the stronghold" strategy and was able to take everyone out on Veteran very quickly. I think the other thing people miss is that your stronghold has 10 "fans", which on the second round can be used to help get to that first stronghold quickly.

You can get xp for playing games, you just wont get the extra bonus for the inning program or any of the rewards that you already collected. Essentially capturing the strongholds ASAP reduces the number of fans they put out in their hexes so it makes the end game sim so much faster.

Exactly. Those 10 fans + the 3 or 4 your get per round to start (then add 1 or 2 if you do some steal fans for the mission) and you'll easily cap any 1 stronghold on turn 2 on vet. I made sure to steal fans from strongholds that I wasn't attacking to keep their re-enforcements limited. Stole from COL/BOS and started capping Angels and worked counter clockwise (no real reason)

This is exactly what I did. Went straight to each team, left about 3 enforcements on the stronghold, after the 6 game, I went back and sim'd everything and finished map.
