Ranked seasons difficulty bug?

Over the weekend I played an RS game while I was in the 600's (I think around 670). It seemed like my PCIs were super small, and the pitch speed seemed really fast. It definitely felt and looked like hall of fame difficulty.
After the game I saw my opponent was in the 700s. Last year in this same type of matchup, the difficulty would default to the level of the lowest ranked player. Has this changed, or is it a bug?

Not a bug, highest rated player dictates the difficulty.

No problem, yes they did change it from previous years.

I don't think that's true. Handbook says 'when playing against an opponent who is set to a different difficulty, the game will default to All Star difficulty' I will say I got here because I was wondering the same thing. I face a parallel 3 deGrom who was also playing up...got no hit...and wondered if it was on Hall of Fame difficulty. Guess it wasn't and my ego has to just accept that lol

pretty sure the handbook isn't up to date bc in a stream before launch they said the highest rated player will dictate difficulty.

This guy is right, it was discussed in the last stream focusing on DD -
Well this is good to know. They need to update the handbook like yesterday.

Handbook never said that though. Handbook read, when playing against an opponent who is set to a different difficulty, game will default to the players with the lowest difficulty. Not all star. Where as this year it's the opposite. It defaults to highest difficulty.
