You won't get refunds, Once you buy something accoding to the Playstation or Microsoft TOS...the sale is final once the item is on your system. Which means unless you haven't downloaded and played the game and made purchases within the game...You're kinda screwed.

At some point theft is questionable and federal legality trumps TOS... Right?

It's not legally theft if you're getting something out of it. In other words, if you obtained the stubs and have them in your wallet on the game....the purchase is complete and no theft has taken place

TOS from a lot of corporations hold little to no weight in a courtroom. Many many times, judges dismiss the TOS a company tries to argue their point with as having no real expectation of being enforceable. In Australia, a company can't have you passively agree to terms of service. They must physically obtain your signature and explicit agreement for those terms to be effective in a court.

The location of the HQ for the company has no sway in the law here. Any product or service for sale in Australia are bound by Australian Consumer laws.

We could just Boycott the [censored] thing. But we lose out and then they'll just find another way to swindle us out of our money without the courtesy of a reach around.

Well, what's done is done for this year...but make no bones about it, it's going to weight very heavily on my decision to buy or even bother to play the show 22 version.

They better guarantee server integrity as a selling point.

Lmao. I wouldn’t believe them anyway. They would still be full of shitt. Just like they knew their game wasn’t ready for launch but did it anyway and happily took our money

They’d likely argue that online is supplemental and technically the game is working.

Instead of refunds or packs, they need to look at extending the 1st Inning deadline. I wonder what percentage of the player base has even reached the 1st Inning boss pack yet, or is even in the 300k range? I've logged in pretty much every day since early release (in the evenings, usually the servers are already down) and have like 120k to go. Finished all the Moments, Daily Moments, over halfway through the First Inning Conquest (the first one not the umbrella). I'm not a good enough player to have a chance at the Showdown (two tries failed miserably).

I remember '19 I was able to reach the Inning boss pack in all but the last couple (played less due to burnout), sometimes with a few days to spare. The progress there seemed pretty balanced...I hated doing Moments but there was enough other things to grind to reach the packs. This year, especially with the nightly 2 to 3 hour server outages, the boss packs feel like an impossible goal.

It depends on your jurisdiction...in Australia for example, where I live, that kind of refund policy doesn't fly with the law.

That is the policy worldwide. Sorry You would know that if you read the terms of service when making the purchase.

In most of the world that is the policy, but in Australia, there are far more stringent consumer protection laws.

What part of WORLDWIDE is hard to understand. I get your laws might be different but it does not cover electronic purposes of entertainment.

What don’t you understand about consumer protection laws? The laws in Australia do indeed protect consumers that make digital purchases from out of country.

Not true they offered refunds for Cyberpunk2077 because like this game it was crappie and the developers did nothing to fix it.
