Hitting help

What is the key to improving here? First year playing and I've been grinding DD a lot. I can successfully complete Showdowns the majority of the time, but I know several people who can sim to the end and do quite well while I struggle with a better lineup and having to score 3-4 times less runs. I've worked on my vision and do a decent job now of not swinging at junk. I feel like my controller placement is good. My left thumb on the left stick moving the PCI and my right thumb on the x button ready to go. I hit on Strike Zone camera view as well. I feel like I just "miss pitches". I drop the PCI on middle pitches as well which can kill me. Just can't figure out a way to get better at PCI placement. I hit a lot of good timing balls.

Try messing with your PCI placement before the pitch. If you're jamming your stick down, try starting your PCI low in the zone so you train yourself to stop slamming down. Any pitch lower than your PCI will most likely be a ball. There are alot of little ways to rectify the problem if you're getting good timing your PCI placement will take care of itself. Practice practice practice

I tried starting my PCI at the bottom of the zone but struggled catching up to the high fastballs. Maybe I just need to get quicker but I'm afraid that may be impossible reflex wise. I'll give it a try again though. I think just hitting middle pitches will help me a ton. I usually hit pitches at the bottom or top of the strike zone better than middle

I started out picking a certain part of zone per each player and only swinging at pitches in that part of zone. Then you get that part of zone with success then branch out to other parts. I take alot of strikes and that's ok.

Yea I don't k ow why its so hard to hit pitches down the middle lol. I struggle sometimes too. Its the ones that are barely high or low I always miss. My kryptonite.

I’m no pro at the game but IMO this is the best way to start getting better at hitting. Isolate a part of the strike zone, for example place the pci up and in, and swing only at pitches that come to your pci.
You don’t have to swing at every pitch that’s a strike, at least not until you’re in a two strike count.

Honest to god turning the pci off has helped me more than anything else.
Mess around with camera angles. Sometimes people slump and changing views will help. I use strike zone high, when I’m off I’ll switch it to zoom for a little bit.
Try adjusting your thumb placement. Over time you’ll get a feel for what works for you. Stick with it, you’ll get the hang of it

Try precision rings, kontrol freek makes them, it's about $11 on amazon and you get 2 black and 2 purple sets.
