To be honest, I wouldn't care if you could only get hits on good or better, that will never happen but that's where I'm coming from. Very early shouldn't be a hit, that's randomness, that's not good input.
-
I’ve had just as many perfect/perfect me going for outs as bad pci going for hits. Just like the real game the Baseball Gods giveth and taketh away.
I know I know
Don’t reward blah blah.

Another post about a good player losing to a bad player huh. If I got a nickel....

It’s not only about being early, is about being early and pci nowhere near the ball... that’s being rewarded at a very high rate.. it has to stop.
Edit: If any of you say this isn’t bad i put then ny best guess is that most of your base hits are coming from this type of input
Anytime something is mentioned that would take away bad play being rewarded there is always a part of the fanbase that will be very upset about it.
Last year hitting became a coin flip of H/9 and confidence because of complaints like yours.
This is a really awful take in retrospect. Last years game was far too offensive, with often ludicrously high scores in H2H play. This is probably because the PCI was generally too big overall and allowed too much area for contact, early swings were significantly OP and resulted in an unrealistic amount of home runs, pitching was seemingly random at times in respect to the final location of the pitch, there were too many juiced cards with 100+ power available to all for free, the entirety of H2H gameplay across all modes (Although RS would be the problem area for me) felt very unrealistic and arcade game like, with no reward for making more accurate input than your opponent with the controller, nor for attempting to adopt a realistic baseball strategy in the face of an opponent who would usually mash the square button at every single pitch and get rewarded with multiple home runs per game.

All my pp are outs right now legit just power swinging taking late flukes coz cba with the game now not sure whats changed but something has.

nah I lose all the time, don't care about losing to bad players, it happens sometimes. When they do beat me though they should have to have good input. But I know in your simulation world input shouldn't matter and just the ratings on the cards so why are you even here?

Did you play all season? I agree it was crazy, but it was better than the latter half where Bauer could eat you alive if you weren’t perfect perfect on everything because his H/9 was 125. I finished the year 98-67 or something in Ranked, by no means am I the guy complaining because I am a bad player. I’m not top tier either, but it felt more arcadey after the changes, not before. Cards shouldn’t drive input. The 70-30 balance they have this year is perfect and shouldn’t be touched.

A much larger part of the fanbase, which understands that hitting a round ball with a round bat and trying to make it go forward is very difficult and sometimes results in luck. If they nerf hitting again this year, it's on you. Last year hitting became a coin flip of H/9 and confidence because of complaints like yours.
We’re not talking about nerfing hitting. What we want is the amount of bloopers that happen in game to be reduced, it’s happening so much that it isn’t luck anymore.
That would leave us in the exact same spot as last year, I’m quite confident about that take. This is 70-30 input. Last year was 50-50 input. We’re all basically saying the same thing but coming from two different mindsets on what powers these bloop hits. They don’t have a choice - a physics engine is a physics engine. If we really want the change you’re asking, RS needs to be on Legend at any level. This stuff doesn’t happen as much as you move up the ranks.

In all honesty, I played up until they released finest, although I was definitely spending a lot less time with the game by then. They did tone the offense down slightly to my recollection, however the SDS method of toning down offense is usually nerfing good swings and turning them into line outs, so I probably wasn’t all that impressed with the gameplay tweaking. By then my ERA was never going to be able to return to a reasonable level, having been smashed around Shippet for months previously.
Other problems that made me give up playing included, but weren’t limited to; desync causing the ball to pass through solid objects (bats, walls, players), causing pitches to warp and change flight path in mid air on the way to the plate, causing balls in play, such as line drives, to hit invisible walls and deflect into fielders gloves, desync and lag causing players to warp around the field, causing scored runs to not display in the actual game score, unrealistic batted ball outcomes that would never be possible in real life due to simple laws of physics, bunting being almost impossible to defend when used in certain ways, even if you had set your defense correctly, limited hit variety, with repetitive hit types occurring time and time again, repetitive animations (how many times would the throw just fail to get the runner sliding into second, or whiff on a hard grounder up the line in exactly the same way every game?!?) and of course, pitches with good input sailing down the middle of the zone for no reason.
Now to reduce that wall of text, all the desync [censored] is a lot of words to describe one issue. The problem is it makes the game look and feel like it’s playing badly, even if it’s not actually affecting outcomes in game. I have wired internet, a monitor, Kontrol Freeks, all the recommended accessories and so on. It’s not on me.
The repetitive hits and defensive animations could just be because I play more than the average gamer (used to average 1500-2000 RS games per year).
So that just leaves too much offense and inaccurate pitching. I hear pitching is much more accurate this year, particularly with pinpoint. I also hear it doesn’t matter, because hitting is still OP, with any pitch in any location able to be hit hard and too may home runs. This was my main frustration. If I want a ground ball to the right side and I throw a pitch breaking down and away to a LHB, let’s say a slider for example, with a RHP - and I execute perfectly, I don’t expect it to be yanked to the LF foul pole for a pulled home run by some early swinging lunatic simply because swing timing = early and batters power rating = 125. If you tried to pull that pitch in real life by getting out in front of it as it crosses the plate just below your knee, headed for the opposite batters box, with the added counter rotation on contact with the bat, I’d be literally stunned if you could get it over the Green Monster at Fenway. It happens half a dozen times a game in the Show. Hitting shouldn’t be point and click like shooting a gun and the only way SDS seem to counter too much offense is by nerfing good swings and introducing dead ball era style contact. Even if I disregard the desync issues and repetitive nature of online play, this is where I keep getting stuck. Bad gameplay. Even if it’s cheap, buying a lot of headache and frustration isn’t a good deal at any price.

I’m cool with all of ranked being on legend, and your you had to be perfect against Bauer comment to get a hit is so off base that I don’t even know where to begin..

Nope not a troll, just a somewhat good player that doesn’t think poor input should be rewarded with extra base hits. Happy about the change to check swings though, I’d prefer if every check swing was called a strike not just most of them

I swear it’s like one guy posting all of these under different names smh, nobody cares that you lost, this is baseball, you lose 2-win 5-lose 1-win 6, if you change it anymore it’s no longer a sports game.

Huh? This is my first post here in awhile..
Don’t tout competitive gameplay in your pre-release streams if the game isn’t going to be competitive simple as that..

Simulation is a bad thing.. go play ootp if you want sim. In an online video game User input should be the most important factor by far.

I know exactly what you mean, sim and realism is a bad thing and takes away from user input. You know what’s not realistic? Me hitting .330 overall through 400 online games last year or me hitting .460 with finest bellinger through 400 at bats, that’s not realistic. So what happens then? Simulation factors will take away from my input to make numbers more realistic.

Ah, now I see, yea I guess. I’m just saying, yea very early hits shouldn’t be in the game, but if those are the only hits your opponents can get, that means you’re doing a pretty good job pitching.
