To All My Directional Hitters
-
I have comprised somewhat of a tips and tricks from my last 4 years of so messing with this directional setting. First before we get started you are going to need to be pretty great at pitching and defense to get anywhere online with Directional. Especially once the monster cards start showing up. Also you will need to tailor your lineup. The 100 power and 30 vision guys will not serve you well. Aim for 70-80 contact guys with 70-90 power with 50 or more vision. Ok let's go....
Using the left stick:
*Make sure your camera movement is set to on
Using directional allmof your directions base off of a middle of zone setting. (If you don't use the left stick it's just a straight swing directly in the middle of the zone).- Left stick down and straight will influence the higher zone pitches. You will not homer off of these like this. Left stick down puts top spin giving the ball a diving effect for singles into outfield over infielders.
- Down and Away should be used for players that have the shift. You will have to wait for a pitch on the outer half of the plate and low to be able to try and hit to the gap in the defense.
-Straight Left is for the sliders and cutters away to go with the pitch and slap it into right or left field. - Up and away is your best chance at the high and away zone pitches to slap them into outfield over third or first

Tips for directional hitters... switch to zone
-
-Up swing is for someone living downstairs. You will not get good hits off anything under the line. It's a miss or groundout everytime if it's too low. What you're hoping for is the miss in the bottom of zone that will give you a chance to get a [censored] into a gap or possibly a home run depending on your timing and the card being used.
-Inside and Up is for that pesky low and inside zone to help you swing in that direction with the bat. Again this all is based off a middle middle swing so anything buried on the corner will be a dribbler or a miss. You must get good at recognizing pitches sooner to pull the trigger in time to catch a slider cutter or sinker before they get deadly.
-Down and In has never been good for me it's meant to take high and inside into left or right but it is always an out for me or a.miss
-There still isn't a way to access those high 90s inside heat consistently at all.You will have to wait for your pitch more so than not. If you score more than 5 celebrate.
-
-Be patient when you get guys in scoring position and bat to the situation.
-Homeruns tend to come when you get better at seeing pitches and timing them when the hit the zone you're waiting for in the situation. Don't chase em that's still an issue for me sometimes. -
Camera Movement on will help recognize when a pitch is too outside or too inside for what you want to do. It's essential. As I fine tune more I'll be back but hope that helps any of you struggling with it. Peace. Love. Positivity.

Honestly though, if you're giving tips and trying to help people get through a learning curve, why not nudge them in the best direction possible.
You're essentially giving someone a broom handle and trying to teach them to shoot pool, while he's giving them a pool cue and telling them to remember to chalk up.

Don’t hijack his thread; I’m perfectly fine facing directional hitters; easier to win. If people like it, their choice.

Noatter how you feel about it some people just prefer directional. It's easier to do all I just wrote than to try and track a ball over the zone that either coming at 100 or break 2 feet at 78. That's why I make it for those in that boat.

Oh yeah forgot to mention...
Best results come from a variation of Normal/ Power/ and Contact swinging. Just holding square will not work out well as pitching speeds and locations change throughout game so should your swing choice to fit the situation as well. If you want to poke it over a third or first baseman power will send it right to the outfielder. Be specific.

How do people use directional? It is just not good.

If they use it how I've described it's not as bad. Most people have no idea what the arrows mean when they use it so this should help them out a bit.

I appreciate what you are doing. I used directional for a long time before switching to Zone but directional just has to much RNG.

They all have RNG to some degree. Any RNG is bad. But RNG or not if they not pressing the buttons or knowing what they doing with them arrows it's all for not anyway
