Ok..this is a rebuttal to the topic "UNPOPULAR OPINION IT SEEMS". The thread someone started patting SDS on the back for this terrific game outside of the VERY SMALL issue that the servers make the completion (or beginning) of any game a crapshoot.
I'm guessing here, but I'm pretty sure the majority of ppl that buy this game do it for the online experience. Diamond Dynasty in particular. Right now DD is a terrible experience. All the lipstick and mascara you want to paint on does not hide the unfinished core of the game as it stands right now.
It's just not ready for online primetime. Once they actually DO get it half-way stable..and it will likely never be perfect (but we can live with that) why don't we return to the conversation about how great the game is this year. Because right now it's a mess.
I just can't believe someone started that thread and several others chimed in about how great it is. It's either SDS employees trying to shine a happy light or folks that have a really low set of standards. No offense.

What are your gripes with the gameplay? Because that’s what that thread was about, a lot of us enjoy the gameplay and find it vastly improved over pasts iterations. I am interested to know what problems you have with the way the game plays when the servers are up?

Gameplay is amazing...when the game works.
I’ve been as critical as they come; there’s no excuse for THIS many issues at launch. But they’ll get it right with time. They usually always do
And once they do, we’re going to have an amazing game on our hands.

My gripe with the gameplay is that I can’t play it.
You get NOTHING from simping for SDS.

Can you link that thread?

Not sure if you are referring to my thread or not.
To clarify in case you are.
I'm not an SDS employee.. I'm just as frustrated, if not more than the average person. In fact, my post was to vent my frustrations because I believe that I know what's going on.
If I lived in SD and not Hoboken NJ, I'd offer to help, and my frustrations are that I understand the problem, but can't do anything about it.
The game plays very well, when you can play it.
Edit I see clarification of the title of the thread you are referring to. Apologies for missing that. Can't find that thread though.

Cool story bro, while i’ve had server issues like everyone else, when I have been able to play I have enjoyed the game. If you think im simping for SDS you clearly weren’t around here last year, I was one of their biggest critics, as ‘20 was an actual dumpster fire. But you keep doing you, keep letting this video game server issue encompass your life.

It was a thread from Raes about how when he was able to play the game, he thought the gameplay was improved over past years. Not once did he defend or excuse the current issues nor did anyone else who posted in the thread, but reading comprehension is hard for some, so here we are.

Ok, I understand that everyone has their degrees of tolerance. But when you have a game that has been out over a week and still unplayable online that is a huge problem that all the "it's great when you can play it" praise is undeserved. IMO.
And "unplayable" is the operative word. When you sit there hitting the Diamond Dynasty tab and it spins off for a 45 second pause just to return an "unexpected generic error" over and over again..that's unplayable. When half (not embellishing) of the games you play either don't complete or seem to complete but, again, with the "unexpected generic error" (that is the opposite of reassuring) that's unplayable.
Yeah, I believe what I've seen when I can complete a game leads me to believe the esthetics of the game are better than last year. They have a much greater variety of animation. All that is nice, and if it wasn't for the unplayability I would surely be complimenting the designers too. But, to genuflect to SDS's awesomeness right now is like thanking a hooker that gave you VD for a wonderful time.

I don’t think anyone was praising SDS, we are just happy that the gameplay took steps forward, especially after last year. I know these issues are unacceptable. I posted about their lack of communication and how frustrating this is on Tuesday and Wednesday night, so I am certainly not sitting here praising them, I have just accepted that 1) Im not an IT guy and cant actually fix the problem and 2) constantly posting about how unacceptable it is and how frustrated I am isn’t going to fix the problem faster.
I am not saying people can’t complain to their hearts content or that they don’t have a right to be upset, you just wont find me constantly doing it. For now I am just playing other games when the servers are down, which means I am not buying stubs, which means a little less money in SDS pockets.
