Stuck on Ready Up

I'm currently playing on Xbox Series X (Game Pass version of the game) and when trying to play an exhibition game with my buddy on PS5, we just get stuck at the "Ready Up" screen and can't advance. We've both been able to play against other friends on Xbox one and PS4 but have been unable to play against each other since launch. I've verified that we're both on the next gen versions, but can't think of anything else to check. Any ideas?
