Slugger Loadout For Catcher

I equipped the slugger for my created guy. I want him to be a catcher, as he’s a primary first basemen but it lists catcher as a secondary. For some reason, with slugger equipped, my created guy can barely catch fastballs right down the middle, making him utterly unusable. Please fix this problem SDS because slugger and catcher are the most popular mixtures for a created guy in DD.

I could be wrong, but it seems that each archetype and level has a set position. If bronze Slugger is listed at 1B and you are playing him at C you get a penalty.

As you climb to silver you will get new archetypes with different positions. Maybe your diamond will have an option which yields a slugging catcher, maybe not.

I am working through the Slick Fielderoption for a catcher. He is a C at bronze. At silver I got archetypes for 2B, 3b, and SS. At gold I got 2 options, but both were SS. I am hoping that the diamond option for Mechanical Man is a C, because both options I got at gold are for differing SS styles (Wizard and Mechanical Man).
