PSA: Don't Link both PS and XBOX Accounts!

I reached out to polygon explaining how a number of players in the player base has lost money and time and the studio is just ignoring us and giving us [censored] advice on how to fix it.
I hate that we have to go this route, but once I get a break in my work I'll be reaching out to a bunch of gaming pages and let them know what's going on. If this can't be fixed, I want my money back.
At the very least, how hard is it for someone from SDS to say, "Hey, we see there is an issue and we're looking into it".

I tweeted at Kotaku and emailed them too. Hopefully more people join in. This silence is ridiculous.

The more i'm hearing, the more it's not even worth the effort anyway. I can't get my continued RTTS apparently, and i even need PS Plus to upload the data to Cloud. What was the whole rationale for this anyway? Seems a big waste of time, and even more, causing big issues.

I was always wondered what prompts people to do those class action lawsuits against game publishers. Now I get it.

LOL, on a deranged side note, MLB 19 works just fine.

You can unlink by doing so in game. This happened to me the other day when I tried to link the game to my ps5. It was like it started me all over. You need to go to your username in the upper left corner of the game menu go to the settings or options there. Not sure because I am not at home right now. But then there is an option to unlink your account. Then you just link it to the MLB, not the PSN or XBX options on the pc.

Anybody tried to create a second Theshow.com account and then link the xbox one to this new one? (maybe it would "unlink" from the main Theshow account with all the progress).
I had a lot of progress, stubs and unlocks on PS and lost everything when linking the xbox one. -
You have to unlink your account from you username in the upper left corner of the menu. Then go back online and link the account only to the "MLB" option when you relink your account. This happened to me on Sunday

No. There is only link option in game, not unlink. -

Tried this numerous times on both consoles. I only get a prompt to link. When myself and several others try to unlink on the site, it errors and immediately logs us out of The Show account site. When we log back in, the accounts are still linked. Trust me, I've tried every suggestion and idea myself or others have posted to no avail. Something is broken on their end.

I’m assuming this is unfixable at this point. The silence is deafening.

Yup. There needs to be significant compensation as well. So much lost on daily login rewards, the daily moments, etc. I mean I have a physical Jackie Robinson edition, so I can't even get a refund from PSN (not that they would do it). I grinded the [censored] out of early release, and now I can't even play.

After sending screenshots and describing in excruciating detail what is actually going on when we try to Link/Unlink accounts, I got an acknowledgement response. "The team is aware of this issue and is currently working to resolve this"
At this point an acknowledgment is better than we were getting, kind of. Who knows what a fix, if any, will be, but hey....progress?

An acknowledgement of the issue at least keeps our sanity for the time being. Thanks for the update!

Same here, got the same response from Joseph after detailling (with pics) the situation. At least we know they are looking into it!

I created a new The Show account and the biggest difference I see is that under this account it shows as "Connected, Current Session" when I'm logged in. That's not the case when I'm logged into my normal Show account with my PS and XBOX accounts linked to it. That's probably a reason why you can't unlink and it takes you back to the login page -- they aren't synced up.
Just in case someone from the support/development team is reading these posts.

Yes, I agree.

Yes, and this is an obvious over-simplification, but it is like they decided on how to sync accounts, tested it internally and it was all great. But didn't have someone afterwards go "Good, now do it 'wrong'. Let's see what happens"
Statistically with millions of people getting their hands on this new wrinkle some were going to inadvertently do something out of the pre-determined "correct" order. And here we are, waiting to see if we are going to lose all entitlements and progress after spending at least $100 on the game.
