Here we go again

3 years in a row of not being able to play this game online because of the [censored] servers. I take a lead in the first inning and then am given a random disconnect loss despite never disconnecting from the servers or my internet.
Why is it that I can work from home for 10+ hours a day or play warzone with 150 people in it and never even lag or show the slightest issue, yet this game hands me disconnect loss after disconnect loss for no reason?
Before someone says its an issue strictly on my end, ill repeat, I am hardwired and have zero internet issues on any other game/application. There are others like me that just cant play this game online. There is clearly some type of disconnect between this games [censored] servers and my internet, and Id love to know what it is.

What is your NAT type? Have you forwarded any ports? Do you use uPnP? Or do you use DMZ?

My NAT settings are open. Ive tried forwarding ports, ones mlbtheshow specifically told me to do, which did nothing. uPnP is active.

If you don't care about firewall protection you could consider deactivating uPnP and put your PS4 in DMZ. That's what I do. It's pretty harmless with a console imo. Other than that you could always check your latency stability and bufferbloat on DSLreports.com, check for faulty cables or contact your ISP. I haven't had a disconnect in years and I live very far away from the servers.
Either way I hope you can resolve the issue. Nothing more frustrating than networking issues.

Maybe Ill have to try that out. I appreciate the advice/help. Its definitely frustrating, even more so when I have no issue playing other games or when working all day.

Sounds silly but it could be a bad wire. I had a similar issue and I was also hard wired. Got lucky and my puppy chewed the cord. Replaced the cord and never disconnected once after the fact. This was maybe a year ago and I played probably 200-250 online games with zero disconnects or weird lag.

It’s you bro. Hate to break it to you. I haven’t had a single disconnect since 18 And I live in NY which is on the other side of the country to San Diego...
None last year I played from April to March and none yet this year

I have the exact same setup as you buddy and I’m having the exact same problem. They say it’s you but every other game runs fine. I play. Apex legends. COD war zone. FIFA 20. And I’ve never lagged or disconnected in those games. Only the show. I disconnect even in the diamond dynasty menu. Just saying i have a wired connection again & only have THIS problem with the show.

They [censored] with online bad this year. There is a group so far of about 20 of us (based off my other posts people saying “me too”) that can’t even get into an online game. We get a challenge failed error and kicked back to menu before our lineup even pops up. I have 2 other playstations in my house on the same network and they work perfectly fine so it’s not my internet. I’ve opened all the ports they asked and used googles open DNS nothing has worked. I’ve yet to be able to play one online game, i even went out and bought a faster external HD just to install MLB on and that didn’t help either. They need to get this [censored] fixed.
