First off, I LOVE MLB The Show! I do have some questions though:

    1. What hitting do you recommend? Zone, directional, or analog? This would be for someone who is BRAND NEW to this game and sucks at hitting and pitching at the moment lol, but I'd still like to learn what'll help me the most in the long run.

    2. What pitching do you recommend? Meter, classic, analog, pulse, pinpoint? I have no idea what's best!

    3. My Inventory: Is there any way to see who I have at the TOP without having to scroll through lots of screens? For example, I have a few Red Sox players but it lists them ALL, and I have to scroll down to see which ones I own. Is there any way to make it so the ones you own show up at the top first?

    4. Is there anyway to quickly and easily just see which cards you have duplicates of? I can't seem to figure that out.

    5. Hitting. When you hit, do you typically just do a normal swing, contact, or power?

    6. Hitting #2: When hitting, do you just hit the button to swing or aim the left directional button? If you aim the left button, do you aim it up, down, left, or right? I'm super confused with all of this.

Thanks so much, I LOVE the game so far but have lots to learn!

I use zone hitting. You’ll have to move around the analog to lock onto the pitch location. Directional you use the d pad to direct where you want to hit the ball. I think most people only use that in moments sometimes, if you need a HR.

I just use the button pitching whatever that’s called. I’m not coordinated enough for all those others. Haha. I’m sure people on here will say the button mode is lame but whatever. The other modes are probably more rewarding and offer more user control if you can master them.

For inventory there might be a search function. I can’t remember off the top of my head. I know there’s the ability to filter your cards when you’re creating a squad. So like you could filter it to Red Sox from in there and see exactly who you have. This is also helpful for when you have a mission that’s something like get 15 innings with team A hitters or if you want to get team affinity innings.

For duplicates, it should show you a small number in the top corner (left I believe) of the card that will show how many you own.

Normal swing for me. Only time I really power is if I have a pretty good idea of what pitch will be coming like in a hitters count or on one of the HR moments. Normal will hit it just as hard and far as power. Plus you can’t check swing with a power swing.

Depends on which hitting mode you use. If you use directional, the D pad will just “influence” the ball in whichever direction you press. With zone hitting, you move the analog to move your PCI to where the pitch goes and hit the swing button you prefer. The better you locate and time it, the better hit it will be. That’s how you get the perfect perfect hits.
