I haven't seen anyone post about this so sorry if someone already has. But are pitch speeds faster than last year? They really seem to be. Is there any official stance on this?

There is never any official stance on things like that. Most likely, things like pitch speed, timing window, and all sorts of stuff related to online play are constantly being monitored and tweaked.
