Got my ps5 finally, hopped on the show to see how well it runs(pretty great honestly). Pitching, fielding, and baserunning are the same, but the hitting feels off. I don’t know if there’s an adjustment to be made on timing or what but this plays different than on the PS4. Anyone having a similar experience? I’ve noticed I’m getting beat by inside cutters when I’ve never had that problem.

You can set the game for performance or quality I think is the settings. Set for performance and it'll run a little better and you should catch up to those pitches again

No, in game. PS5 is gonna run it way better obviously. What you are experiencing is most likely connection lag. Doesnt matter what you are playing on that cannot be fixed by raw power lol.

He might have been onto something because performance wasn’t on. Maybe it makes a difference, maybe not. It was just weird having Rivera/Kenley carving me up when I read them extremely easy back on the PS4

mlb 20 plays worse for PS5 because the show was made for a ps4. Once 21 comes out the timing windows will be fine on next gen. But some things u can do to make it better is setting resolution mode on mlb the shows audio/video settings to faster and setting ur PS5 to performance mode under game presets. Also setting ur ps5 to 1080p instead of automatic will help

Performance definitely gets better when you set it to faster that’s absolutely true. However it’s hard to have a good experience in a port of a game that has a lot to do with timing. The game is not meant for the ps5 and seems a little off.

Interesting. Is there a list of optimal settings for playing the show on PS5? What changes need to be made to the out-of-the-box settings?

I haven’t had an issue with hitting. I’ve even been playing in mlb stadiums with no issues. I did take a good month break from the time I sold my ps4 til my ps5 got delivered when I played again. Idk

I broke down and bought one for $700 on Ebay. But honestly, zero regrets. My PS4 was used daily for 6+ years and lately it has been showing signs of its age. What did I do with my PS4? I sent it off to a big farm upstate where it had room to run and play (“Look over there, Lennie... can you see the rabbits?”). The better graphics (The Show looks great — even my baseball-ignoring wife said “holy s—t”), much faster load times, hard drive that isn’t full, and controller that doesn’t run out of juice in an hour are all bonuses. The games will come, but if you are a daily gamer it’s already worth the outlay.

Same here. The only difference I notice is I have to wait for the other player a lot because my stuff will already be loaded and theirs isnt. And there are zero frame stutters no matter where you play or what is happening on the field. Still has the lag though from connection depending on who you are playing.

Dude.... I don't think that's completely true.. If you don't think every single game including MLB 21 won't run better on a ps5 or series X, you're just flat out wrong.. And I don't understand why people get so upset that someone is willing to pay an extra 100 dollars or so for something they want and is in high demand and hard to find. You just sorta sound silly acting like that. Most of us are adults.. 700 dollars shouldn't make or break you. I totally understand if you can't afford it but don't try to shame people bc they have set themselves up to be able to.

Hes 100% wrong. The game will absolutely play better on ps5. I played both and they were both PS4 versions — the ps4 version played better on the ps5 — the actual game being released is a ps5 version...which will be even better

Ask anyone playing the game on PS5 right now how terrible it is (see OP). It will be the same experience.
I own both, I got my PS5 at retail for my step-son, the tech test ran far better on the PS4. It's not a big deal my dude, in a couple years when the PS5 pro drops, there will be games
