A bit here from Ramone on stadium creator for online. 150 preset outfield walls, if you touch the dimensions at all, can’t use it online. About halfway down the article. Pleases both sides it looks like.

Thanks for that, a lot of good answers. I am sure the online guys are relieved that there are online restrictions.
It sounds like it isn't going to be half-baked, as far as what you can do. If I can land a ps5, day one for me will be playing with the editor to see if recreation of classic stadiums is truly feasible. But this makes me really feel like they will be.

Interesting article. Here's the part about CAS online availability:
It’s something you can do, but you won’t be able to use it online. The way that we attacked competitive balance so that created stadiums can be used online without griefing is we have over 150 outfield wall presets. If you use one of those presets and don’t change anything, your stadium can be used online; if you change anything on the outfield wall, it’s now invalid. And there’s a little indicator with a bat in the top-right corner of the screen, and once you touch that wall, it turns red and you can’t use it online. But everything else you can change: you can pick the grass patterns, you can put 50 UFOs in the background, you can choose your batter’s eye – you can mess with all that stuff. But the dimensions of the field, that is how we do competitive balancing!

I hope you can't make a white batters eye, lol.

30 MLB Stadiums
11 Classic Stadiums
23 Minor League Stadiums
2 Spring Training Stadiums
30 Premade Custom Stadiums (from the article)That leaves 54 outfield wall configurations. Hopefully, some are modeled on missing classic stadiums (Tiger, Ebbets, and that one configuration you can use for all the cookie cutters).

This is a great find, thank you for sharing

Nothing mentioned about last gen getting access to stadiums from vault for offline. (sad face) Prolly all next gen. But excited for next gen users!

Regarding Create a Player:
"You no longer have a Diamond Dynasty player and a Road to the Show player; you now have a Centralised Ballplayer. There’s a very important distinction: your Centralised Ballplayer is who you take through all of the modes; that’s Road to the Show and Diamond Dynasty – you can use him in Programs and Moments. However, the Diamond Dynasty and Road to the Show experience are still very separate, they’re just sharing the same player now."
Sounds like moments are back?? That is an L. Hope to learn more on the stream today.

I was pretty sure that moments would be back but saying you can use your ball player in them... maybe they're different this time around

There were some moments last year where you got to use your entire DD lineup (especially in the Ruth Program). I assume that'd be where you'd use your Ballplayer.

I'm curious to find out how they'll play online if you can only create them on a next gen console.
So if someone in a PS5 loads their stadium and go s into an online game and syncs up with someone ona PS4, the only way that stadium will load is if the PS5 player is the Home team.
But if the graphics, on a PS4, won't support the option to Create A Stadium; how I'll they support a stadium that is already created by someone?

I never used a CAP, but weren't moments associated to your CAP? If so, that's essentially using your ballplayer in moments.

He mentioned sharing across friends and there hasn't been any verbiage suggesting you can only use custom stadiums in next-gen. The stress has been on creating stadiums exclusively on next-gen.
Since they are limiting wall configuration for competitive modes in DD, I presume all platforms will have access to play in created stadiums as long as the stadium meets the online criteria.

Good point, I completely forgot about the CAP moments since I haven't even looked at them since the first week and don't use a CAP.
Moments were honestly one of the more frustrating parts of the game last year and the community was pretty outspoken against them. Hopefully the moments content will be very limited.

Well, looks like home hunting is going to get even worse. Wonder if anyone will ever get a matchup above CS in ranked

I doubt they will be limited unfortunately. I would bet they are just as prominent this year as last sadly

As long as they are on “competitive mode” they shouldn’t be too bad.

I agree but something is sticking in my head that I heard somewhere that they will be on simulation. I cannot recall where I heard it or to be honest, if I even did but something in my head says it is.
You can take that for whatever you wish though, I could have dreamt it lol

I think that was from the answer to my question about selecting modes. All I think they said was that you couldn’t pick casual, not what mode they would be on.
It would be a huge mistake to have moments/showdowns on simulation

Unless the way he described how dimensions had to be a certain way in order to play online was his way of saying you will have access to stadiums for match up purposes? Because i am totally fine being able to use and not create.
