How do normal people get a PS5
-
I used the HotStock app and got mine from Best Buy. I tried for several months and Best Buy was by far the best store. Walmart was absolutely dreadful and PS direct always put me in an hour queue. Make sure you have your shipping address and payment method in the system. When you hit add to cart, you may get a box that says we will be releasing more inventory shortly. If that comes up just wait until the cart box turns yellow then purchase system. Do not refresh or jump off of this page. If it says out of stock then you are out of luck. By far the best one imo.

I bought one on eBay over retail.
Unwashed neck beards lmao

Thank you! Exactly what I was looking for. I will get that HotStock app. (I already have the HottieStalker app, but I think that's probably for something completely different.)

Twitter is where I got mine. There's a Ps5 stock alert page.

Ok, now I am curious about the HottieStalker app

It's just sort of a dayplanner type of app that helps you take notes, take long-distance photos, keep track of people's schedules, hack into alarm systems, etc.

I just preordered online from JB Hi-Fi back in September and they called me a few days before release to plan a time to pick it up.
Nothing out of the ordinary.

I'm not willing to camp outside of a Gamestop next to a pack of unwashed neckbeards, and I'm not dropping a sweet stack on eBay to buy an empty box. So how do normies get a PS5? There are a lot of websites dedicated to tracking the PS5 restockings, but they all seem either sketchy or outdated or probably a front for the mafia.
If you've gotten a PS5, how did you do it? And what is your address and work schedule?
I simply put my name on a list at the local game store in early November and waited. Took about a month and a half, got it week before Christmas at retail price.

Make sure you set up PS5 alerts on the HotStock app. As @Ikasnu_PSN, twitter is a great source also. I don't have twitter but wario64 seemed like a good source also.

I got mine on PS direct. My queue said more than an hour. I back out and went back in and it said 6 minutes. 8 minutes later I was a happy guy

Aww, now that's disappointing.
But I did decide to download the HotStocker app. I have the $$ but do not want to overpay for the PS5, so waiting isn't a big deal, but if I can land one, I will go for it
-
Depends on how much you want it and your current financial situation, most on Facebook marketplace are legit, and will meet at local police station. Might pay 150-200 over list but like I said, all based on your desire for it and your finances
-
Unless direct.playstation.com is lying to me, I should have one by the end of the week.
I've been following this twitter feed for about 2 weeks now which is how I heard about the deal I eventually got in on: https://twitter.com/mattswider

Got mine haha
Follow places on twitter, easy money
-
I got a one on launch day by spending an hour and a half or so at like 1:00 am clicking madly on Best Buys web site. I chose in store pickup at my local store because I assumed they would get some launch day stock and that my chances of getting one of them was better than trying to get it shipped.
-
I got my Xbox Series X off of Craigslist. I paid $200 over face & met the guy at my local police station’s safe meetup zone. Transition went smooth...New in box & the guy even had all the extended warranty paperwork for me.
-
Twitter pages, as others said. I got mine through the bundles that GameStop offers. Scalpers don't want the extra controller or the gift cards so if you are willing to spend about 200 more for the extras it's a great way to get one
-
Target. In store pickup. Follow Jake Randall on Twitter for stock updates. Constant refresh on Target in both phone app and online. I got one in my cart and refreshed for thirty minutes -- purchase went through.

I swear I must have been the luckiest person on earth after reading this.
No joke, was at work at 9am and thought I’d check to see if there was any news on release as I hadn’t checked for a few days or so. So I jumped onto JB Hi-Fi website and they were available to preorder so I did. Paid $50 deposit and the balance a week or so later and as I said I got the call a few days before to arrange pickup time.
I do feel bad for those who have been wanting and waiting for months. I seriously must have been the luckiest person on the internet that day. Thankfully no problems with it either.
