I got a PS5 on the target website for in store pickup from a Twitter alert from some account I followed. It was pretty easy...I wasn't even very fast and was able to get it. Id say stock was available for five to ten minutes.

My wife followed some guy on Twitter who would alert his followers to where and when shipments would be arriving. 2nd day after following the guy she got one paid for and I picked it up in store. I figured that was so easy I had better take a shot at getting a new monitor and gaming chair, I felt this had to be the sun shining on a dogs [censored], ended up with a nice tan grabbed a ASUS TUF GAMING monitor and chair. Topped it all off early release night with a $160 worth the stubs. Mlb The Show 21 has been good even though 42 Dansby Swanson vanished from my inventory and the occasional server issues

Preordered it the day they went live from bestbuy at 330am. They started doing preorders earlier in the day but their site got screwed from all the traffic. At 3am the site started working and i got it easy as hell. Few months later i had it in hand.

Buy the [censored] bundle from GameStop. I got 2 ps5’s this way and 3 other friends got one too. When the bundle gets delivered take everything but the console to GameStop and return it. I paid $535 with tax for each ps5 after retuning the bundle junk

I was lucky enough to wake and check my email the night pre-orders went live on Bestbuy.
I'm a shop foreman for an elevator fabrication company. I go in anywhere from 0200-0500 and leave 1000-1300.Be extremely vigilant, sign up for updated stock alerts. There are a few twitch/twitter people who post right before a drop, follow them. I know a couple people who've had luck following the twitch/twitter people.
Also make sure you pre-register on any site you might use. This way you won't miss out fiddling with the process when seconds matter.

I got 3 before Christmas. One I beat the bots online and got it through Walmart.com. Second one there was a rumor our local Walmart was getting 20 something. That morning to work I drive by and saw about 12 people in line and hopped in line waited a half hour and got it.
The third was right place right time. I went to GameStop to get wireless headphones for my PS5. While in line the phones started ringing a lot and the employees went oh my god they just dropped PS5s on us. Apparently GameStop didn’t even tell their employees and you could only purchase in store. So I was like might as well get one while I’m here.

A close friend of mine was needing one for her son so I basically sold that for retail. The third I sold for $750 at that time they were selling for close to $1k. I figured might as well help someone out and not gouge them like most were.

Good man! Known you for a bit on here, played you quite a few times. Good on you. Hate the idiots ruining Christmas’ for people trying to buy one legit. Hate the idiots enabling these bots by paying almost double retail even more

On another message board, some member were stalking the Sony site. They would make a post when they were available. Went to the Sony site, waiting in the virtual que and the. Waited in another one. Got into the store and got lucky.

Follow Matt Swider from Tech Radar! And watch tip videos from others. Any little advantage you can have will help. I got mine from Walmart, but you need to use the App because its faster. You just keep hitting Buy now and it if says sold out or more stock coming in such time (I forget which it says) just keep hitting it. You’ll feel a vibrate on your phone when you get one in your cart. Best feeling ever lol Website is slower and you have to refresh the page. Watched a video to learn that. Good luck

I just preordered online from JB Hi-Fi back in September and they called me a few days before release to plan a time to pick it up.
Nothing out of the ordinary.
I pre-ordered mine back in Sept of 2020 via Amazon the day preorders were out from the comfort of my home.

You can get a PS5 from a site called Stock X if you don't mind paying a bit extra. It's more secure than sites like eBay, they'll test the console before shipping.

I bought my series x with the help of a discord group. You join the group and select which rare item you’re looking to purchase and then it’ll notify you when that particular item becomes available among many of the retailers. I’ve bought two series x’s. Bought one for myself and then I bought one and shipped it to my friend and allowed him send me the cash via pay pal. Wasn’t hard. Just waited for the notification
I don’t know how to search for groups on discord , I was given a link to this but the name of the channel was either ‘ATR Stonks’ or ‘ATR Stocks’ I don’t recall , and I don’t know how to verify.

Seems a lot harder to get in canada. I only know one person that has one. My wife gave me the money to buy one for Christmas and I tried for a couple months, but at this point I'm just going to wait until I can walk into a store and buy one. It's not worth going through hoops.
