Which one are you preordering and why?

Been a preorder 100 edition since 18. Been playing day 1 since 14. Going to pass this year. Probably pick up used at some point.

Good rule of thumb: go standard. Always go standard.
Unless the extra cash means nothing to you, don’t pay extra for stuff that you will get for free within the first few weeks anyway. It’s basically the equivalent of buying stubs and packs which the most experienced players here will recommend against doing.
And in the days prior to official release, servers are going to be wonky as heck so that early access carrot will create more frustration than anything.
The funny thing is though, people are always saying how early access was the best 20 ever played before the patches. The servers were fine then, so I don't think that's entirely relevant.
I don't think 20 had Early Access.
I could be wrong though.

following as well.The show has been a day 1 purchase for me since 09. Digital deluxe has always been the best bang for your buck if you spend a good amount of time in DD.

I always get the 100$ version. I’m got it on series x because I am not paying the scalper prices for a ps5.

Still waiting on a ps5 (I'm on a waitlist, but also trying other ways) so it's whichever the cheapest dual entitlement edition is and I'll get it the day before launch. Unless I get my hands on a 5 before then, in which case it'll be standard ps5 edition.
All the extras are irrelevant within hours.

If I pre-order then it will likely be digital deluxe.
But I never preorder until a few days before release, because there is absolutely no added benefit to preordering digital copies months in advance. I'll wait for the remainder of the videos and Feature Premiere videos before I make a final call.

There is added benefit... just not for the consumer
I’m with you on this and am surprised how many people preorder digital games (when most don’t have a discount) way in advance when there is no reason to. I guess the excitement gets a bit too much.
I’m really surprised no company has gone for tiered preorders yet where the longer you leave it the less you get. Either they’re not allowed, fearing the backlash, or they just haven’t thought of it.

If I order the Jackie Robinson edition, with the hat, will I still get the early access digital code on my ps5? Or does that come with the physical game and I’d have to wait? TIA.

I do believe that comes with the ps4 disc. If so, you'll still get early access, but only from the time you get the disc (which should be that Friday). You have to have the ps4 disc inserted into your ps5 drive, to be able to play the included ps5 version.

And @PNWtroutbum_PSN make sure when you redeem the digital code you do it on your PSN account, not somebody else’s.
I wonder how many people are going to get burned thinking they can give the code to somebody else to use and then not being able to use it themselves. Hopefully nobody here

I'm getting the one for ps5 b/c i saw where i can buy 2 ps4 pro's for the price of a ps5 and i'm gonna wire them together to make a ps8 and get ahead of the technology!

I've confirmed this works. Instead of stadium creator, duel PS4 pro players get access to online franchise mode and Mike Trout on day one.

I always get the standard, but considering how you need the deluxe version for next gen if you buy it on ps4, I don’t want to buy the game twice once ps5 drops.

You only need the JR edition (non-deluxe), whether physical or digital, to get both versions. It has early access, and is 15 cheaper.
If it weren't for early access, I'd just buy the standard ps5 version, as I don't need the stubs or packs to get where I want to get.

I've always bought the standard edition. However, this year, I pre-ordered the $85 Jackie Robinson digital edition, which was the cheapest way to get the dual entitlement. I have both a PS4 Slim and a PS5, and want to be able to use the PS4 whenever I travel.
