Which one are you preordering and why?
-
I’m at that moment in my life where it’s getting time to decide which edition to preorder. I’m in the middle of baseball season, so I haven’t had the chance to watch any of the streams/videos.
So, some things to consider:
-
I saw where they brought back Early Access. Is that only for certain editions?
-
These Diamond choice packs... is it going to be an 86-87 rated Diamond like we saw with Sheffield/Big Papi/Maddux/etc.? Is that really worth a digital deluxe preorder?
-
Double Dailies? I didn’t get much luck out of those this year. Will that not be a thing for certain editions?
Your thoughts? I’m going to attempt to catch up on everything today, so I’m sure that’ll answer some of my questions.
But which edition are you getting and why? -
-
I’m still undecided..following
-
Probably the $84 one. A few packs, some stubs and off we go!
-
Good rule of thumb: go standard. Always go standard.
Unless the extra cash means nothing to you, don’t pay extra for stuff that you will get for free within the first few weeks anyway. It’s basically the equivalent of buying stubs and packs which the most experienced players here will recommend against doing.
And in the days prior to official release, servers are going to be wonky as heck so that early access carrot will create more frustration than anything.

The funny thing is though, people are always saying how early access was the best 20 ever played before the patches. The servers were fine then, so I don't think that's entirely relevant.

I don't think 20 had Early Access.
I could be wrong though.

20 had 4 day early access, and the servers were fantastic. Not a single issue anywhere.
I'm getting digital deluxe. Keep the 25K, sell the golds and diamonds, sell the equipment, start building the stub bank early.
With the prices of cards, that's cheaper than buying stubs (Unless you have awful luck with the gold choice packs).
-
Standard. The four days early seems to be the biggest thing for higher tiers plus the donation to The JRF. Go standard and donate the difference to JRF instead of just $1.

That’s what I’m thinking. Those diamonds will be at quicksell value at no time, if not from the beginning.
4 days can be a good head start. -

4 days can be a good head start. It always is. You get conquest done, showdown, whatever other programs they have. I do it every year, and last year when the game dropped, my school (I'm a teacher) closed due to covid, so I had lots of time to grind. I pray I don't have THAT this year, but I'll still take Friday and Monday off work.

The Jackie Robinson edition.
-
Digital deluxe edition.
-
For the first time I shelled out the Hundred bucks for the digital deluxe. I think I will put in enough hours to make it worth it.
-
Jackie Robinson deluxe edition. To me it's not that much more than the standard PS5 edition and I wanted the hat. Everything else that comes with it is bonus.

Actually I am retracting my previous comment due to the Jackie Robinson edition having dual entitlement. For the extra $15 ($23 in Australia) you get the security of having both PS4 and PS5 editions, so if the PS5 has a problem and goes in for repair, you can still get your baseball fix if you have kept your PS4. If you get standard and your PS5 goes bung you have to fork out full retail if you want to keep playing while it’s in the shop.

Been a preorder 100 edition since 18. Been playing day 1 since 14. Going to pass this year. Probably pick up used at some point.

following as well. The show has been a day 1 purchase for me since 09. Digital deluxe has always been the best bang for your buck if you spend a good amount of time in DD.
-
I always get the 100$ version. I’m got it on series x because I am not paying the scalper prices for a ps5.
-
Still waiting on a ps5 (I'm on a waitlist, but also trying other ways) so it's whichever the cheapest dual entitlement edition is and I'll get it the day before launch. Unless I get my hands on a 5 before then, in which case it'll be standard ps5 edition.
All the extras are irrelevant within hours.
