Are you directing that at me or the OP?

I am an older fella, 40.. And I never had any interest in any of this twitch nonsense till the same thing happened to me. Ended up on this guys twitch, so I looked him up while I was playing him and followed along while I played him. He was talkin smack, his followers were talkin smack, so I got on and gave it right back then beat him with a walk off.
I ended up following him and subscribed cause he was a decent dude from my town who was having some bad luck job wise and turned to streaming to help support his family and I respect that... I'll throw my phone on the desk sometimes while I'm a work and passively listen and watch but honestly I've kind of lost interest in it.
But ultimately most of these streamers just seem to follow and watch each others streams while cat fighting or j*rking each other off. When I was younger I'd go to friends houses and play games, this is kind of what this is I guess... These twitch followers can be like kids lookin for friends and it seems to get clicky and petty. I've watched streamers completely turn on their own subscribers calling then names and stuff.

I’ve played some streamers I’m sure but I don’t even look at the names normally. I pitch well so many likely would get pissed I was t grooving then heaters. ( most of the runs I give up are on forced hangers) .
I did play a famous YouTuber in cod one time and he had a full party talking [censored], I said put this next match on YouTube [censored]. ( well worse language) I proceeded to drop 80 kills on him and he rage quit at the end of the match after saying “you lost” but I was solo so I didn’t care lol.

I knew one guy was a streamer bc his name was advertising his twitch so I pulled it up and he was streaming our game. I was able to hold my own mostly bc he was explaining his strategy

Also a good streamer will avoid negative commentary and thus the community will usually follow where very little of the chat is focused on the game at hand. Some good streamers are Trumanation, Daddydimmutv, Even Koogs streams are pretty tame. Shelfy and Scuffy are also pretty good too. But those guys are partners so they get in trouble when they start disparaging the competition.
You're really missing out on good content if this is who you're watching. I'm not gonna sit here and bash individuals, but a couple of them are as fake and toxic as it gets. And honestly, just hard to watch.. You should consider checking out some lesser known streamers or just broaden your horizons a bit. Sorry, just my opinion so take it however you want lol.
Who are some of the lesser known that you recommend?

As somebody who streams a lot of ranked season games, I'm disappointed to hear this story. From a completely selfish standpoint, I've gained a lot of followers simply from people who say GGs in chat after we've played. We talk about the game, and we end up being Twitch friends. I don't understand why some streamers have to be so toxic. Get over yourselves. Show some sportsmanship. Everybody is trying to get better and have fun. I'm sorry that happened to you, brother. It shouldn't be like that.
The saddest thing though is that so many are like that. Koogs twitch is normally toxic beyond belief, shelfy is the same, screaming and yelling about how the game is so bad and screwing him over, yourfriendkyle just continues to say how he is terrible at the game and just constantly whines, mcgunski just talks about dicks at stream long and bashes people constantly.
Those 5 have a massive following, their chat is basically what they are too, they feed off the nonsense. I used to watch a bit but I've stopped watching most streams now. I do watch Samuel Adam's stream and skme times yeyo. They seem like good guys. I hear great things about cbrev but not sure if he streams or just YouTube
