Would like to see starting pitchers stay starters

With 8 relievers in the pen, a BP game is actually possible and I may never start a starter again. Openers are gonna be the new norm.

Are we 100% positive they're giving us 8 spots for relievers?
I think they should get rid of Openers. That's going to be one of the reasons I'm not touching H2H this year. (Unless there is a decent Event put out)
I realize that in actual MLB games an Opener can start. But that's an actual 9 inning game. Not a 3-6 Inning 'arcade' version of baseball.
Plus are we also 100% positive that they're going to allow us to select our pitcher again this year?

I'm probably more in the I don't care camp, I can see both sides. I think starters out of the pen became less and less of a problem with how SDS handled energy depletion in terms of bringing them out, so I don't think we see as bad a repeat as the Kluber out of the pen early game kinda thing if they do keep it.

I don't know how much programming it would take, but the rotation should be hard locked, so you have to go 1 through 5, without being able to pick your starter. If you sub out your #1 from your squad, he still takes 4 games played before being full and/or being able to start. Then make the starters available from the pen only when you run out of arms in the BP. We wouldn't have 4-6 weeks of Kluber/Detroit LH 98 (blanking on his name RN) relieving each other at the start of the year.

Hal Newhouser.
But to get to the point about licking in a rotation.
Don't know if this will work; but someone mentioned contracts the other day.
By contracts I mean the part where you have a contract that is assigned to the pitcher and each game he starts, it depletes from that contract.
When his contract runs out, another one has to be purchased before he could pitch again.
Although, with something like that; what do you do if you're playing a game and your opponent quits after one or two innings?
-
Buying contracts? There is a big no from me. Just look how bad are contracts in other sports games.
Actually, I don't think, that bringing another starter to the game is a big problem now. SDS did good job with pitchers energy after couple updates

First things first, even this year you couldn’t just sub out a pitcher and not suffer the energy penalty. So if you continued using starters as relievers you were double penalized and that penalty wouldn’t be fixed by removing a pitcher from your rotation and returning him later in the year. If you subbed a drained pitcher from your rotation he would still be drained when you reintroduced him to your rotation until you fulfilled the energy penalty. So the game did a good job on that front. And by the end of the games cycle you saw a lot less people cheesing the game using starters as relievers.

Only complaint I have is that it seems like it takes longer than 4 games to get back to full energy.

I think as each season goes on the pitchers maybe shouldn't rest up as much, forcing starts with less than full energy. Maybe once you get above 700 or something. In real life you get deep in the playoffs and it's all hands on deck. Personally I want as few restrictions as possible on how I can use my squad.
I do get the "20 pitcher" rotation thing that goes on during seasons though.. And I myself am guilty of using b level guys to get to 700 then put my big ins into the rotation.
Maybe you should have to declare you're team, starters and bullpen for each season in RS and can only add/change if it's a new aquire. That would throw a curveball in there... the twitter-verse probably would hate it though.

I love this idea man. I really wish they would do this.
