Why I keep hearing people doing worst with prestige players compared to non prestige players ? Placebo effect maybe ?

I think part of it has to do with the cards they face. Like for example I hit like .350 with Larry walker until I prestiged him but now I’m facing better pitchers every game. And part of it is definitely mental

It only makes a difference for fielding upgrades(going from 78 fielding to 81 gets you a gold shield), and for velocity in pitchers. That's it. The 3 point upgrades to any hitting attributes, speed, stealing, or per 9s don't make much of a difference at all
