I signed up for the tech test not long after the signups started. I signed up for PS5 but changed my PSN name (same account though) since then. I haven’t received a tech test code though, could that be the problem?

This happened to me last year. If you changed your PSN its likely you won't get an invite cause you signed up with your previous ID

If you changed your ID after signing up then you probably will not get an invite unless they make an exception
