Yearly subscriptions to MLB TV back in Apple TV
-
This is in Australia at least, yearly subscriptions to MLB TV are now back in Apple TV. For the last couple of years, our only option was to subscribe yearly through MLB website or pay the ridiculous monthly fee of nearly $40.
At current exchange rate, a yearly subscription will cost $167 give or take a buck.
If you can get iTunes credit at 15% off then that takes it down to $141 or so. This more than offsets the 2021 MLB TV price increase.
Beats subscribing directly and having to also pay a currency conversion fee on your credit card (if it has one).
Edit: All numbers above are estimates, GST may not be factored in. I need to get some iTunes credit before I purchase.
Two weeks to spring training! Zig Zaggety!

I will stream games on sketchy websites until MLBTV lets me watch the tigers with no blackout restrictions

Mlb.tv need commercial break in progress screen and not the same commercial over and over every inning of every game. I'm not buying they don't care or listen to customer feedback.

True that. Even worse is on some devices (eg Xbox One and on website) when the ads start you can’t skip them so you have to be ready at the end of an inning to skip forward.

Just thought I would post additional info here for any Aussies. It looks like MLB ignores reasonable exchange rates and balloons the Aussie subscription cost out to $215 which is an exchange rate of US$0.67 (taking into account GST) for an AU$1.
It’s a ridiculous loading, considering actual exchange rate is presently US$0.79 and has been over 0.75 for at least three months.
So my previous estimate of $162 is way off by over $50.
Any Aussies know what it costs to subscribe through MLB.com? Is it still $215?
