Pausing mid-AB

Didn't you just post another thread about having a "step out" option? Are you arguing with yourself?

I know all the cool kids do this when you are right on the fastball and it is a pivotal point in the game, but I think it is super lame.
If you can’t get me out by mixing your pitches, is pausing really going to help?
Aside from the odd time when you forget to pinch hit for your pitcher or whatever, I can’t think of any reason to pause in the middle of an at bat. You can make your defensive shifts before you face the batter.
I know it will never happen but I’d like to see pausing mid at bat go away.
Also, you guys that do it while I’m pitching, it’s not going to make me miss my spot.
Just play the game!
I have done it when My pitcher is not throwing pitches where they should go. It is not very often. Some people do to be annoying.

Let’s say it’s a full count and you’ve fouled of a couple tough pitches. Your opponent suddenly pause for a couple of seconds for no reason and then tries to rush a fastball by you.
Oh. You mean your opponent pausing while he's pitching. Not someone pausing while they are batting.

Yep. I guess there are just a lot of ways players abuse the game to try and get an advantage. This will probably always be the case.

I've paused mid at-bat before, but never for the purpose of throwing off my opponent. If I pause in the middle of an extended at-bat, it's probably because I know the next pitch is going to knock out a hot dog vendor in the nosebleed section, and I need to check to see if I remembered to get someone up in the pen.
-
They're preying on you getting agitated by it and antsy. I pause too, take a few seconds, breathe, think about the pitch sequence, check my phone, whatever, then unpause and wait for them. Trust me, it helps.

Last night I had a guy pause in between nearly every pitch. Held every set to the end and bunted with every player that was 95 speed or better. He actually scored like this too.
He also had a lefty pitcher and intentionally walked all my big righty bats no matter what. No outs one out two outs:
Needless to say he was winning 2-0 and in the 6th I believe he intentionally walked dARnuad to get to lefty he who walked unintentionally...still no outs pitcher up I brought in 98 Justin Turner I hit a no doubter to his high cheese he was spamming all game...and he instantly quit
Point of the story is...these players that do whatever it takes to get the easiest win possible are the same players that instantly quit if they are losing.
And some of them are on this forum.

Well said.

You just did it to me quite a bit.

Oh yeah? Well that’s interesting. Apologies. I could not throw strikes for the life of me and was getting extremely tilted.
-
Sounds like you knocked it, then you tried it

Totally unintentional. Why ruin a GG by taking a shot at me?
-
Sorry you feel that way
-

Like I was taking a shot at you. I was simply saying you paused at every critical moment. International or not.

Well, that is your perception. Did you look at the hitter analysis post-game? Did you notice how all my pitches were clumped around the Center of the zone?
I already apologized for anything I did unintentionally. As I remember, I paused to warm up pitchers at the beginning of innings. Once or twice I paused behind 3-0 (which is hardly pivotal) because I was having trouble throwing strikes.
How was the connection for you?
-
Just fine

I’ve paused mid at bat during long at bats late in a game to warm up a pitcher, didn’t realize this was a no no

Well, as this thread has demonstrated, you can’t really ever know why your opponent is pausing, so maybe it’s not such a big deal after all.
