What's with the quick pitching when there are runners on?

Quick pitching or slide step?

Some opponents think they can force you to chase bad pitches by machine gunning them at you.
You can always take a breath by pausing for a few seconds or, if it is really bad, hold R2 for a second or two.
Don’t abuse that, but I’d say it’s fair game if your opponent is rushing you.

Some pitchers, Kopech is one, automatically slide step when a runner is on. I sold Kopech bc of this. It messed me up every time a runner got on.

That’s his pitch from the stretch I believe he also has an additional side step. I could be wrong though

I never slide step. I figured that's what he was doing. He gets lit up when pitching from the stretch. Diego Castillo is the same way for me. They are great until someone gets on
