Sad Game

I have to vent. I just had my kid over to join me for a ranked game. I pitch, he hits, collab style.
We ran into an Uber cheeser with over 500 games played (300+ in the loss column).
Over the course of the game, he had 9 hits, of which 6 were drag bunt singles. He stole 10 bases and was caught only 3 times, despite pitch outs, Salvy behind the dish, etc.
I should clarify, I was bringing the 2b in against many of the obvious bunters, but it really didn’t make much of a difference.
A couple of times he was able to steal home despite my catcher having the ball.
He was able to prevent me from stepping off or throwing over sometimes, presumably by holding R2.
The guy pitched Bob Gibson, Rivera, Cy Young, Kluber, and Nolan Ryan, in that order.
My kid left in disgust in like the sixth inning, I know this kind of player thrives on getting people tilted and quitting, but honestly, it really kinda ruined our night.
I’m only posting this here because I feel the developers of the game share some responsibility for this really bad gaming experience.

This is why I avoid online play like the plague.....Franchise only!!!

I avoid online as much as possible. You can have 9/10 good players but that 1 [censored] always ruins it.
I mainly play DD Offline which this year has been fabulous.
The only place I find consistently good online games for DD is 'Casual Online' mode. There are no rankings in casual and most of the people want to play baseball and not exploit the game. Try out Casual Online DD if you are not all about rankings and such.
Also regular H2H non-DD is good too from the main menu.

Your opponent posted about this on Facebook in the MLB the Show (Diamond Dynasty) group and I had a feeling he was leaving something out. I ran into a schmuck last night that said "two steals and i quit". Normally I say no, but he got a leadoff hit with Wagner anyway and figured he would steal one no matter what I said. Then he goes on to score 5 runs in the first off me as he kept swinging instead of stealing. I'm sort of fine with him lying about it, but then after I got down by 10 runs from throwing meatballs he still continued to take extra bases and steal. I don't get people. I guess I had a few friends growing up that would have done the same thing. Not friends with them anymore though.

Bunt defense with 2B in, its impossible to get on base unless it drops right in front of the catcher and you get that horrible animation.

anything related to sportsmanship for online gaming does not exist.
for example, in NHL, if i'm beating a guy say 4-0 or 5-0 in the 3rd period, all i do in that period is dump the puck in his end and let him try to come back. I don't even try to score.
But when I'm down 4-0 in the 3rd and i know i won't beat the guy, the guy still tries to run up the score on me for no reason whatsoever except to be a real aho1e.

Thanks!
Yeah, it’s been a while since I’ve run into an opponent who even tried to bunt with the 2B in. Next time I’ll add bunt defense.
