It's not the packs. Packs are garbage. It's the lack of free upgrade. (If I'm correct that is.)
Why would there be a free upgrade. The ps5 version is 10.00 more. I could see being able to upgrade for 10 more, but to upgrade for free ain't going to happen.
I'm not sure if you noticed but MOST games you can purchase right now have both ps4 and ps5 versions included.

If you could have got a free upgrade, who in their right mind would pay 10 more for a ps5 version, when they can just pay 10 less and then upgrade it for free.
No I haven't noticed. The only game that has caught my attention on the ps5 is the remastered Demon Soul's, and that's not worth shelling out 400 for (that's if I could even get the console at cost).
Those games that have both versions, are they 60.00 or 70.00?

I think if you had to have the PS5 version to play on the PS5 they would probably do the free upgrade. But since you can buy the PS4 version now and then when you do get a PS5 you can still use your PS4 version on there that is why no free upgrade.
Also all the collectors edition versions will come with both PS5 and 4 copies.

At the time of my original comment I either hadn't seen that you could purchase the collectors edition that includes entitlements for both, or that info hadn't yet been released.
It would have mattered because although I haven't yet purchased a ps5, I fully expect to get one within the mlb 21 game cycle once they become easier to get. If that's after April then I was working under the assumption I would either have to wait until I got my ps5, or be forced to purchase 2 copies; one for the ps4 for day 1, and then again for the ps5 when I upgrade.
This all doesn't seem to matter much now.

Yeah but companies and people aren't stupid. If you got a free upgrade with the ps4 version why would anyone buy the ps5 version? It's logical, people just always find something to complain about.

Okay, there's Madden, which had the ps5 come out 3 or 4 months after it had been released, and they knew they couldn't charge people again for half a year of a game that was barely changed. 2K made people rebuy the game for next-gen. I know, 2k is a dog [censored] company, but SDS is gotta play with the cards it was given, and their comparisons are other sports games. The MOST games you are referring to were launch-day/ near launch games, where everyone was transferring over (Miles Morales)

Greed. When the Ps4 dropped several companies were doing free transfers to the new console. Some companies are consumer friendly, here's to you CDPR!

I think most people who haven't been able to get a PS5 are worried that when they do finally get there hands on the system, that they don't have to start over, lose their progress and also if you are someone who purchase stubs (especially in the beginning) that all of that will be lost when you finally get a PS5... Looks like if you buy the deluxe it won't matter, but still it's a slight anxiety for people, who haven't been able to secure one yet.
