Gameplay problems to fix for 21
-
This is first year I've played the show in over a decade and don't use msg board often so I apologize if my gripes have already been discussed at length, but nevertheless:
How can fielding seriously be this bad after all these years? Has anyone ever made a diving catch in the OF? I've seen it once or twice done against me and both were the most ridiculous looking flops and I'm pretty sure done on accident. And INF isn't all that much better.
The shifts in gameplay are absurd. I can't tell you how many times I've played through 8 scoreless innings where it's impossible to hit the ball, then the 9th inning comes and all of a sudden it's a totally different game. Gameplay starts getting glitchy, balls are hanging over middle of plate, and fielders are running right through the ball. It's infuriating. I get that there are momentum swings in baseball but when this stuff happens in video games it just makes the game feel like it's rigged. I can't speak for everyone, but I would imagine most of us would prefer to just have consistent gameplay throughout rather than having the game continuously compensating in order to keep games close.
Why is it that you can't have 2 different lineups to choose from to account for whether you're facing LH or RH pitchers?
I could probably go on all day with other complaints but these are probably my biggest gripes. Let me know your thoughts and feel free to bring up some issues you've noticed this year.

To answer your question about different lineups for whether you're facing a LHP or a RHP:
I heard they used to have that feature and people would back out if the screen once they saw they were facing a pitcher that had the same handiness as their batters.

The main reason I think the different lineups depending on pitcher would not work and would not be good for DD is that we have way too many players to choose from. You could make a god squad with all righties and a god squad with all lefties so it would be too much. You would end up facing an all lefty teams whenever you throw a righty and an all righty team when you throw a lefty. In real baseball this doesn't happen because you only have 13 guys to choose from. Personally, I think the lineup aspect is fine as it is.
