Thinking about doing Battle Royal or Events Online

I'm an offline player but seen some videos on how BR and Events work.
I am not sure which was the one, but the player picks 25 players, all of a mix from Diamond to low 50 rank players, and then has to win # of games or win # of games in a row - forget which - and they will get X # of prizes/cards depending how they do. I think that is BR Right?????
Well it looked fun but wanted to get people's opinion how others play in this mode? I want to play baseball and not an 'exploit the game' game. I understand since there are rewards involved I'm not going to match up vs others 100 percent of the time who play fair.
What is your opinion on opponents in this mode? 50% will play fair? 75%? etc...
-
Yes this is BR and yeah most everyone plays fair. I do warn you though, if this is your first time playing online, you're about to venture into a super competitive mode where very few people find success with.
-
BR is definitely the most competitive mode because of matchmaking and unpredictability of AllStar difficulty/3inning games. If you have stubs to burn, it’s still fun to go and get use to online gameplay. Events to me are more fun due to ability to use your own collection with restrictions and free entries.

Events are a great way to get your feet wet in online play. There’s no stress to win and you have a wider range of players to pick from. Most people you play are pretty chill but you’re bound to run into people who do nothing but troll
-
If you’re somewhat of a decent player BR is a fun mode. I say that because it’s 3 inning games unless it’s a tie game. That being said, pitchers stamina deplete quickly and you can hit big shots or have them hit against you pretty quick. Still a fun mode tho
-
Events are great as you can just throw a team together to get the overeall rating but also you can make a team full of people you are trying to prestige. that is really the only reason I do events.
-
Boneman05 I never even thought of that thanks for the tip.

Heads up, the most recent event was HOF. Turn up the screws to get around in the fastball!

Most random, sure. Most competitive? Absolutely not. Ranked on HOF and legend is way more competitive bc the skill gap is way higher and you face good players most of the time

Sorry, I was saying competitive for me due to being matched with players much more skilled than myself in BR. In RS, at least in middle of the season, you match with similar skill levels. I’m not very good at the game, and would agree that RS at higher levels are more competitive.

I enjoy Battle Royale a lot - the greater mix of players and balanced teams (not all 99) makes for better baseball than playing the 99 Godsquads. Having said that, as a around 500-600 Ranked Season player, I have never been able to win more than four or maybe five BR games before losing two.
Events could potentially be fun but I get a bit sad by always facing Prestige 100 opponents that have already prestiged half their squads. Events seem to be very the most tryhard players hang out.

I usually play an event game before I get into a ranked game ...just to see if I got it today

Do Ranked, The start is set up for beginners. I believe the Spring Training level starts on Veteran difficulty and you're most likely to get matched up with those at your skill level. Once you win and become more comfortable it's a natural progression.

One thing I prefer with Ranked Seasons is that nine innings allow you to pick up patterns in your opponents pitching. I'm too slow to move around with the PCI in an efficient manner and seldom hit if I cannot predict the pitch. In BR and Events, the time to pick up patterns is much shorter.
