Five extra steps off 3rd

Took a week off the game. Was hoping to be done for the year, but my order for Mays went through so I thought I’d fire it up again. Play one game of RS, remember why I stopped playing and decide to head into Battle Royale. Go 6-0 but the. lose to a guy whose game was mostly exploits. One was the extra lead off third. He took four or five extra steps. Between this and his username and nameplate, I knew something was coming. Guy was a troll. First few times he took the extra steps, I just stepped off. He goes back. Then I pitched out. He goes back. Third time I pickoff to third the second he takes an extra step. Sure enough, he goes. I throw home, it’s offline and he’s safe. I proceed to make the rest of the game a long drawn out hell for him. Yes I’m petty, but I’m irritated as it seems the only players left are goons, exploiters and trolls and I just want to play a regular pleasant baseball game.
Anywho, to turn a long rant into a short question, how do you stop this tactic in case I run into it again?

Why does it always throw offline in red when they do it that's what is annoying.

If this is the way then this needs to get fixed. I do not want to get into a 15 minute game of wills with someone taking the extra step just to level the playing field. I’ve gone this route with the extra step off first. It’s tedious, and yet another infuriating game design flaw.

Yeah I fully agree there. It's been broken for a couple years now too, which is the most frustrating part.
