Starting Pitcher Roulette

I understand the change of choosing your starting pitcher for ranked, and BR, but for Conquest it actually hurts the mode. Using the same starting pitcher every game is an unfair advantage for the player against the CPU, who seems to still choose a starter at random.
Plus - the need to have picked 5 starters and being forced to use them all eventually, brought a dimension to Conquest that i miss already.
I would be dumb for me not to pick my best pitcher every game, but it sure makes the mode a lot more dull.
TBH, I miss the dueling of #5 starters. It made those games completely different than games with "aces" starting.
If there is no factor like "energy" to force use of multiple pitchers, just allowing us to use the same pitcher every game removes an immersive quality.

Um, it matches your starter up against his opposite (your 1 vs theirs, etc). I love being able to pick my pitcher.

Well, if you start your number 1 pitcher then the opposing team starts their number 1 pitcher so for teams with elite number 1 pitchers it might be better to choose your 3, 4 or 5 pitcher.
For example, If I don't want to face Scherzer when I play Washington then I should not pick my #1 starter.

If you want to start your best pitcher every game, then that’s on you. I’ll enjoy being able to use any of my pitchers whenever I want.

Agreed. After I earned Gibson last season it took about 10 games before he was chosen to pitch.

I think once you pick your #1, you should be freezed out from picking that #1 until the full rotation is used. Just like the real game

Or you could simply impose that limitation on yourself and not ask them to impose it for everyone.

As I haven’t played it yet, I’m curious - can you just put your highest rated pitcher in the #5 spot in the rotation?

Fun fact: If you start a reliever the CPU uses roulette again to choose their starter!

Well i guess im alone then, but it has made Conquest a good bit less interesting. They should have at least put the same energy mechanic into every mode except exhibition friend vs friend.
How many starters do you need in Ranked Seasons before your first pitcher has his energy back to full? That will be how many guys get used.
Wont you get sick of facing the same 2 or 3 guys? -

ThanksNo. it ranks according to overall not slot in rotation.

ThanksYeah, I tested that. On the pitcher select screen it orders your pitchers by their overall rating and not the spot yo have them slotted in. So your highest rated pitcher will always be listed first. Maybe it takes slot into account when you have 2 pitchers with the same rating.

It actually makes it easier to platoon players. If I know the team I'm playing has a 5th starter who is left handed, I can set a line up to all players who crush LHP. It really makes conquest a lot easier than it already was.
