Does connection affect timing online?

Does anyone know if your connection affects your timing online? There will be some games where I'm lacing every 99mph fastball up in the zone, then the next game I'll be late on every one. Not only that, there are some games where I'm EARLY on 99... It just feels wildy inconsistent game to game. Additionally, it feels like sometimes the opponents timing windows are different. Can one player have a better connection to the server than another player in the same game or something.
Just trying to make sense of online play. (I know it's probably impossible...)

I def think it does. I played a guy who was the home team and chose nationals park. I was late on every single pitch. I’m usually early on every pitch.

Yes connection plays a role. That’s why people home hunt

I think it might. I’m home from college and my wifi at home is terrible. Haven’t been able to touch deGrom on HOF, before I left school I would light him up on HOF. Also just been playing terribly all around this month.
You might have to play some winter ball........wait. This IS winter ball, playing into December

Yes lag is real , a bad connection can make 98 look like 150
