Why isnt Jeff Kent in the HOF?

He is at leased top 15 maybe higher second basemen of all time.

Guy was skilled but one of the biggest pieces of Sh** I have known..... I know his illegitimate kid’s family and man, the guy is bottom class

Plus he was one of those unlikable players, at least to the press.

Cause he was an average 2nd baseman that had decent power. Nothing Hall of Fame about him.

HOF voters are garbage. They keep Schilling out for his political views(even though it might be justified), and completely disregard Bonds’ HOF case just from his years in pittsburgh just because him, Mcgwire, Sosa, Clemens etc. used steroids which were not illegal when they played. Their attitudes toward the media weren’t great either even though other players linked to steroids (Pudge, Piazza) are in the HOF. The media has personal vendettas against some of the guys not in yet. Why Billy wagner hasn’t got in yet is completely beyond me too

Jeff Kent was absolutely everything that is being said. A red a$$, douche, etc....That though, should not keep someone out of the hall of fame. As a Padre fan I watched Kent play through the prime of his career with the Giants, and then the Dodgers and he was VERY good. Always a dangerous hitter and hated seeing him come up in clutch situations against my Padres. However, I don't think he was quite on the hall of fame level. The hall of fame is reserved for the absolute best of the best and I don't know if I can put Jeff Kent in that category. Again, a very, very, very good player but not sure about hall of fame caliber.

There are definitely some bad HOFers. Baines is ranked 74th in Right Fielder JAWS behind guys like Shin-Soo Choo and 27-year-old Bryce Harper.

That’s an entirely different argument, for which there are pros and cons for both players. It's hard to say he stole an award from a guy that came in 5th place in the voting and only had one 1st place vote.

He may have been a solid offensive 2B, but he was offensively inept and wildly clueless when he was on Survivor: Philippines, which had perhaps the weakest casts in the history of the series. If you get trounced by a guy who fell faceass first into a fire, then you don’t deserve to be on the show or in the Hall.
