A lot of players recommend zone, but I simply cannot use it. I cant aline my PCI and my timing is so off. People say Directional or Pure Analog requires no skill. So is using these input a noob move?

It's certainly limiting yourself to the mercy of RNG, but at the end of the day, it's about having fun, if one of those input is more enjoyable, then use it.

Not really, but Zone is a lot more rewarding. I've been using directional, but RNG goes out the window when you have a line up like mine going against a team will all silvers and golds destroying balls with Zone. I learned. Now I can at least keep the score a little closer using zone, but I still lose...not as much as when I used Directional.

If you’re going to use analog then try zone with analog input. That will allow you to utilize the ability to move the pci around. But you won’t get much traction using directional hitting once you get to the 700’s.

Play how you like and what you feel comfortable with. It’s just a video game and doesn’t matter what anyone else says about how you play

Use analog for a while it will allow you to start seeing pitches with your focus only being on identifying FB or offspeed and of course timing when to swing. It seems like with analog if you are being disciplined and not swinging at everything along with good timing you can hit balls hard that are in the strike zone even if there closer to the edges unlike directional where it feels like you only hit balls hard if they are center cut. If you use it as a training aid so to speak you will have a little more fun at the plate because you will hit more balls and have less frustration due to pci issues. But its true what everyone has said about zone and it being the hitting interface that gives you the most control of your hitting so once you are consistently getting good timing and you feel like you can pick the ball up make that transition back to zone because for me anyway zone just seems more rewarding when you square balls up knowing you did it and competitively speaking you will have no chance vs better players who pitch well. Once a player who can pitch good, and understands the game senses your not using zone you will not see anything else to hit effectively. Hope that helps I know it allowed me to become a better hitter and be more competitive while learning.

And it doesn’t take long to figure that out.

I’m going to play BR today using analog flick. I’m a terrible hitter and I absolutely stink at BR, so it won’t impact me negatively. I’ll be interested to see if I have dramatically improved results all of a sudden though. I might go ham and use pulse pitching for the first time in about four years as well, what harm can it do?

I used to have the same opinion of my skills. After years of being a directional player I made the switch this year to zone. Took a bit to get used to it but it has helped my game. Not saying I'm a good player now but I am much closer to average now.

Trust me if I can make the switch, so can you.
