Is the game perfect? Definitely not. Is it a bad game? Also definitely not and if this defines a bad game to you then man you have been spoiled by video games.

Look who's back. The guy with a grand total of 30 RS games to tell us all we are wrong in his "expert" opinion. Ok Ramone we got it games awesome. Now run back to your cut and paste job for RNG the Troll 21

You're clearly young and have never played a game with an actual game breaking bug that makes you restart or games with bugs that literally make the game unplayable. Im not saying the game is a masterpiece. Im saying its not a steaming pile of trash like all of you guys seem to think

But you literally barely play the game so I'm wondering how you know? You keep sidestepping that point honey.

I play offline because I don't have the luxury of playing online uninterrupted for 45 minutes. I was taking care of a family member earlier this year for a few mo ths before they passed away and am currently dealing with my own health problems. That is why I can't play ranked as much as I would like.

Ok that's fine. I'm just wondering how you know we are wrong then? Oh you're just a mouthy know it all dbag is that it?

You're not worth the time. You call me a know it all when anyone that disagrees with you works for SDS. I can accept the shortcomings in the game but people like you can't accept that you lose so the game has to be trash.

Bottom line is, you aren’t as good as you think you are. Few of us are, my friend.

Sometimes the game rewards your opponent when their inputs aren’t great. Sometimes you aren’t rewarded with P/P. It happens.

The thing is, the really good players—the “goons”—can consistently get good inputs and can overcome their opponent four lucky homers.

Those of us who aren’t that consistent get all mad when our good inputs aren’t rewarded because we don’t got them frequently enough to overcome our opponent’s lucky streak.

Face it, bro. You’re probably a slightly above average player. That’s it. Accept that you’ll win some and you’ll lose some. You’ll hit a homer on 11 PCI placement and you’ll give up homers on the same.

I’m in the same boat as you. I’m about 175-98 or so in RS. Good enough to win more than I lose, but not even close to being a “goon.”

Accept your limitations in life and find joy where you are, in video games and elsewhere. Otherwise you’ll die miserable.

I hit perfect/perfects with Trout, Walker, and Mantle last night, zero HR’s. Sometimes it happens. Im guessing most people that left did so because the season’s almost over and content has gotten stale not gameplay.

Bottom line is I think you're missing the point of my post. Why is it rewarding players for sub par input ? The game isn't fun when this happens. Just make the game better. That's it. That's all. reward people for doing what they should be doing and don't reward people for not doing what they are supposed to. The game isn't fun when it happens. If I knew everything was on an even playing field and the guy squares one up with good PCI placement then fine.

Before I say anything, i want to be clear i believe the game rewards subpar input to much right now. But the only way to guarantee it to never happen is making every good input a hit and every bad one an out. Otherwise there is always the possibility of getting unlucky at some point.

It has to be that way. Maybe you can tweak it to reward bad inputs less, but it has to happen. People have to get lucky results a) because that’s baseball, and b) most of us would lose more than we care to admit if they didn’t.

Yeah, not saying that stuff never happens and sure "that's Baseball". But my last 6 HR's I've given up are 11/11/11/12/10/11 PCI placement.

I quit a few days ago. Made it a month longer than last year. Locking Chipper behind that mess sort of shoved me away from the game.

ShakeNBake gifted me a copy of 2k21 and starting playing that. 2k is a [censored] company, but I’m just doing no money spent.

Hopefully I come back to MLB. Just burnt out with it. Used to look forward to it, lost the fun.

I hated the extreme program too. That program alone made me want to quit the show. That was what started my one foot out the door.

If there was any confusion as to the point of my post I will clear it up. It wasn't a post saying I should always win. It wasn't a post to say the other person deserved to lose. I have lost plenty at Ranked season and don't mind losing. But when you are trying to defend a game that allows 4 HR's on what I believe was bad PCI placement. 3 11's and a 12. (maybe a 12 Hr is justified every now and then) While you're doing pretty much everything you are supposed to to hit the ball. 14' /15's. Even a Perfect that was right at the 2B... It just isn't fun to play anymore and really it hasn't been for quite a while.

But isn’t that baseball though? I pitched professionally and can tell you I had many starts that on paper went great, but everything that was hit was squared up. Meanwhile my teammates would hit balls out that weren’t squared up too well. It’s literally the game of baseball itself...

Anyone else about fed up and done with it ?

I get frustrated at times, but get over it, and keep having fun. If I get really angry, I will take a break and play Fall Guys.

Not really angry. Just bored and honestly it is borderline amusing how bad it has gotten. I mean we should be used to it by now really. Might check out Ghosts of Tsushima since I've heard good things. Just frustrating because this was really the only sports game i played. Maybe the new golf game is worth a shot ?

    Ghost of Tsushima is awesome.

What @maurice91932 said. The only issue I see with this game is the gameplay is different day to day and is never consistent! One day you feel like you finally got hitting figured out and the next day, play the same exact way and you can't seem to touch the ball. I'm a well below average player (my record speaks for itself). But I do hear ya! I've come close to shattering the game, but I have anger management issues lol

I consider myself an above average player and have enough of a sample size to confidently say this game is BOOTY cheeks online.

Save the RNG [censored] for Events to little Timmy and Susan have a place to get gifted wins and hits.

Let RS be mano y mano, high emphasis on rewarding user input. BOOM FIXED

This game cannot function without RNG. In fact, literally almost every game ever made could not function without RNG

The problem is SDS doesn’t understand how to set the skill gap correctly. All they do is mess with timing windows and pitch speeds to balance the game and it’s not only ineffective, it’s become a tired act. They need to rebuild the game, because the problems are baked into this game engine.

    This is the correct take.

I think it's far too complicated to fix what we have

And the obligatory "See ya tomorrow" post.

In response to the obligatory humble brag post from the people that think they should never lose.

Didn't say I should never lose. I've lost 161 times in Ranked season. If you can't see the point of my post then I really don't value your input whatsoever. Keep defending the game and let's see where that gets us

I put forth no defense of the game. I'm just pointing out that posts like these give off a sense of entitlement.

"I'm so awesome look at my fantastic timing only to be screwed by the defense. How dare my crappy opponent beat me when they can only muster cheap hits?"

That's what these types of threads sound like. Maybe I've got you all wrong but that's seemingly the attitude of a lot of the posters on this board. Like it's some crime against nature when they lose or hit into bad luck. The same people that complain about getting screwed out of hits, are the same ones with guys hitting 400 throughout their lineup.

You're not going to quit playing the game and no one would really care if you did.
