I get frustrated at times, but get over it, and keep having fun. If I get really angry, I will take a break and play Fall Guys.
Not really angry. Just bored and honestly it is borderline amusing how bad it has gotten. I mean we should be used to it by now really. Might check out Ghosts of Tsushima since I've heard good things. Just frustrating because this was really the only sports game i played. Maybe the new golf game is worth a shot ?

Okay I'm kidding. I feel you. Some games its just brutal. Your opponent gets fluke hits and runs because of it while your hard hit balls are outs.

You shouldn't judge records and batting averages. I play for prestige stats only and ignore bunt defense and pitchers energy levels. I also discovered game mode on my tv in june and went from .167 to .247 batting average. My older players started in a hole like Sheff, Biggio and Mantle.

OP you're 1 W away from liking the game again, I feel your pain. Losing streaks stink, especially when losing to a terrible player & also especially when you have some outrageous bad luck in the game. I once lost 4-3 to a guy who robbed a 2 run HR. To make it even worse, the 4 runs he scored because of a 2 out dropped pop up by Mike Piazza behind home plate...his player hit my next pitch out for a 3 run bomb...then put up another 1 with 2 outs. This happened a week ago so you know I felt a type of way if I still remember that. Needless to say, I hated the game but because we're all sick in the head & addicted, I played again and here I am, lol.

I'll be playing till cyberpunk 2077 comes out, then I may play here or there. Here's hoping they take gameplay a little more seriously for next year and elevate this a step closer to e-sport quality. There's a lot of good stuff to like here honestly. But for online ranked play you can't have the secret sauce, RNG, network issues, or whatever you want to call it type shenanigans that seem to run rampant.

I appreciate the positivity. It's not that I hate the game it's that it is getting redundant. I'm not saying the guy was terrible, I was just pointing those things out like his W/L record and batting average because the guy all of a sudden is hitting bombs on horrible PCI placement.
Whatever you're opinion is on RNG/DDA whatever... to me it is fairly obvious that it is in this game. I'm of the opinion that if I play the game correctly and make good PCI placement that I should be rewarded for that. I'm not saying that it should be a HR or a hit every time. But when what I mentioned above happens it just completely makes this game look ridiculous.
Really hope they can go away from this style of online play but with all the new players coming in next year I think it is going to be way worse. Gotta keep everyone engaged and spending stubs.

Right !!! That's all I'm saying is just make it a true competitive experience. If someone straight up outplays me and is better than me I have absolutely no issues playing a full 9 inning game and taking my L. When you know you've been playing better than someone....and they have an actual way to look it up while you're playing the game and you're giving up HR's on that [censored]. well that isn't fun at all.

I think the only way to do this is to maybe have a separate competitive league with dedicated servers that you pay a little more for but also gives you more perks or prizes. This way you're avg. player in the 200's-400's has their experience and when you want to play more competitively you have that option.

Dude you are having the exact same experience I am. Just be careful the little kids get real upset at the mere suggestion of flaws in this game. Apparently they own a lot of stock in SDS.

I am with you. This year's gameplay is the worst it's ever been, including 18. Content is amazing but I just don't enjoy playing anymore, especially online. What you described is the norm for me. Hitting is completely random and feels skewed to one side or the other. Pitching is horrendous. I feel like the only control I have on pitching is which pitch to throw. Using pure analog, I will consistently have perfect input and have the ball go over the middle of the plate or be completely wild. This game is usually the only one I play and I am finding myself putting in only a couple hours per week now. It's strange to me because SDS has listened to the fanbase in so many ways and each year, the main cries are for them to make user input matter more but year after year it matters less and less.

I had like 5 instances where the "see you tomorrow" guy was right and I went back to RS after declaring I was done.
Last week I officially had it and haven't even come close to loading up a game. The only reason I'm even on the forums it so see if TA 4 drops since I want to cash in on my investments and just lock stuff in for fun.
I'm proud of my RS record as a first year player, but I won't be buying the Show 21 until I see if the RNG gets toned down (which I'm sure it won't).
Just a pathetic excuse for online gameplay by SDS (SDS = SuckyDevelopersStink)
tl;dr - Quit for real, its worth it!

Is the game perfect? Definitely not. Is it a bad game? Also definitely not and if this defines a bad game to you then man you have been spoiled by video games.

Didn't say I should never lose. I've lost 161 times in Ranked season. If you can't see the point of my post then I really don't value your input whatsoever. Keep defending the game and let's see where that gets us

i hate seeing whiners its such an unattractive quality in a person
we all lose, we all have bad streaks, its how you conduct yourself that determines who you are as a person
this game plays great sometimes, and it frustrates you at other times
theres a lot of emotional infants in this forum and its great to keep them in check

If there was any confusion as to the point of my post I will clear it up. It wasn't a post saying I should always win. It wasn't a post to say the other person deserved to lose. I have lost plenty at Ranked season and don't mind losing. But when you are trying to defend a game that allows 4 HR's on what I believe was bad PCI placement. 3 11's and a 12. (maybe a 12 Hr is justified every now and then) While you're doing pretty much everything you are supposed to to hit the ball. 14' /15's. Even a Perfect that was right at the 2B... It just isn't fun to play anymore and really it hasn't been for quite a while.

You're clearly young and have never played a game with an actual game breaking bug that makes you restart or games with bugs that literally make the game unplayable. Im not saying the game is a masterpiece. Im saying its not a steaming pile of trash like all of you guys seem to think
