I hate bunt cheesers

This should be reportable, they’re exploiting the game, it doesn’t matter if you bring your defense in. They’ll just lay it down anyway and get on base.
This dude I played had 8 hits and probably 6 of those were bunt cheesing. I’d like to punch them when they start with that. Play fair.
Sorry, I had to let my frustration go.
Yeah me to bro. F- them. I have Edmonds leading off no speed. Hit the ballll people

I hate when people use the excuse that bunting is a part of baseball. Yes it is but the difference is that in real life it actually takes skill to bunt for a hit whereas in this game you just press a button and let the game do the work for you. Takes no skill.
-
if you are ready for it, its a non-issue. pitch up and in, or in the dirt. set your defense. its not a difference-maker

From now on whenever you suspect a guy of bunting, do this:
- Press down on the D-pad to bring up the defensive alignment menu;
- Set the duration to "batter" (or you'll play like this for the entire game which you obviously don't want);
- Scroll to position and manually select the 2B;
- Scroll down and play him "In";
- Go back to position and now select the 3B;
- Scroll back down and play him on either "drag bunt", or "bunt defense" or "halfway". It doesn't really matter, as long as he's somewhere in between home plate and 3B.
Rinse and repeat every time a guy is up who might bunt.
The only way they can now bunt to get on base is by dropping a perfect bunt just in front of the catcher, where he'll need too much time to pick it up and throw it over. But this is a rarity.
thank you this is incredibly helpful

High speed sinkers up in the strike zone will cause them to foul it off or a weak pop up. Once they realize this, the cheesers try to swing the bat or they quit.

Im guessing it takes more skill to press X or Square than Triangle???

This is not true. A guy with 90+ bunt can easily lay one down on those pitches, I've seen it time and again.

If that’s your stance, half of what happens in this game takes no skill.

No but it takes more skill to time up the pitch correctly and move your PCI to the correct spot, two things you don't have to do when you bunt. With bunting you literally just press triangle and let the computer do it for you.

Wrong. In order to hit, you need to also move your PCI to the correct spot and time the pitch up. To pitch, you have to decide good pitch sequences and either hit the correct spots on the meter or the analog, with throwing in the field, you have to get it in the right spot on the meter. With bunting you literally just press triangle and let the computer do it for you.

I got lucky then

At a bare minimum, they really should bring the pci back for bunting.
-
@raesONE Thanks dude, I got bunt cheesers quitting as soon as I score the first run and get them out with the defensive adjustments
