Tatis Jr. POTM issues at SS

His stats read great but he seems to miss a lot of balls and does this annoying double clutch throw to first at times which has caused men to reach base.
Is playing him at SS a bad idea?

I haven't had any of those issues at SS with Tatis.

I haven't had any of those issues either. In fact, just the opposite for me. His defense has been great and I love some of the animations he gets and his rocket arm. If anything I'm struggling to hit with him but I'm sticking it out and hoping he'll come around.

Yea sorry man I’ve had him at short since I got him and I don’t think he’s made an error yet

Same here with the hitting. He’s an extreme pull hitter so you have to be early to get good contact. Like earlier than early lol

Yeah that's my problem right there. Just in general I'm late on a lot of pitches, of course more so with fastballs. Like later than than late! ha. I've been trying to focus more on being early with him but it's difficult. Then you get something off speed and I'm flailing away. I have been squaring up more balls with him lately but it seems like it's always right at someone. Being a Padre fan I can't give up on him though, I'm in it for the long haul.

Yea your stuck as a Padres fan lol. I’m with you I can’t touch a fastball to save my life so I struggle with guys with long swings like tatis and mantle. I just give up and move on. Game is hard enough without me handicapping myself

I played him at 3rd while doing the Sept POTM and while it says he can play that position he was horrible. 1st hit his way went under his glove. At SS no issues.

It must be the way I’m pitching then because it’s happened to me a few times. He does this wonky double clutch throw to first. He also is slow as hell and will let balls through between 3b. This is always righty vs righty and I throw a lot of stuff away some maybe it’s me...
Hitting is fine. Oddly enough his prestige card is hitting 40 points lower for me so maybe it’s because you guys haven’t prestiged him yet? Lol, this game.

He's been just as solid as J-Roll for me at short. No issues at all.

I haven't had any issues. If anything, I think his defense is INSANE. He has an INSANE arm, and gets to almost everything. My opponent hit it to him, and it was at first 2 seconds later, if that. Very quick. If you need to get a fast runner, hope they hit it to Tatis.

I can’t argue your statement because I don’t have Trout. You may very well be right. But from the players I have used - Tatis is the best hands down & it’s not even close.

Trout is the guy you want up to bat in big moments. Not sure what the clutch rating actually does, but Trout sits at 108 and Tatis at 125. I started out slowly with Trout (to the point he was a bench bat) but slowly working my way up with loads of XBH.
