Just curious. Why does nobody use HRD Griffey? I have him and have thought about trying him out but how bad can he be?
The defense and contact just isn't there like his sig card last year. The HRD cards all have juiced power and lack of defense.

This. I’ve used his postseason card over the HRD card because he has better defense. There’s also the fact that the HRD card has been more expensive to obtain than his 95 and those stubs have to be locked in. By using the PS card instead, you retain liquidity and when they eventually give us his 99 I can just sell the PS card again.

I start Cobb, Mantle and Williams in my OF only because I’m a huge fan of Williams. If not I would start Trout. But Trout is my 4th outfielder for now. Once Griffey comes out I’ll start him and then Williams and Trout will both definitely still be bench bats.

Fielding is a non issue with silver in left I've found. Is Ted going to make a diving catch every game, or flag down a ball in the gap that Buxton might get to? No. But his bat is easily the best left bat in the entire game, and arguably the best overall. Trout only has him beat as an all around card because Trout's card truly is elite level at all 5 tools, where as with Ted you're getting unbelievable hitting with fielding that's fine.

Played a RS game last night, I'm really rusty. But I really like Trout's swing, he didn't get a hit, but he got plunked and I drew a walk with him. I could tell my opponent did not want to pitch to him. Plays a smooth CF as well, very happy to have him.
Gonna play a few event games to get back in the swing of things, at least for my skill level. With all this offline content RS was pushed to the backseat.

There aren't many cards that just seem to be universally feared in this year's game, but I'd say the 99 Trout is definitely one of them.
IMO, it's between the 99 Trout, Mickey Mantle, and FOTF Jim Thome for the best overall hitter in the game.

Well I assume it's Mantle. I just disagree. They're 1 and 2 without question, personal preference likely dictates who gets 1

Mantle is a switch hitter, Trout is probably a tad better overall but the switch hitting factor for me makes it a wash. They're both outstanding.
