Oh i do. Just dont understand why people pay for a name rather than stats. Its a competitive video game after all. SDS feeds of those ppl so
This is not a competitive video game. It may attempt to present itself as such, but it falls short in many areas on many levels, to the point where it really cannot be regarded as such. A competitive game would usually see the outcome decided by the skills and input of the user.
Of course it falls short but competing against someone for a reward is called being competitive. My reflexes suck so bad any fastball 97 or over im whiffing on so guys whos reflexes/stick skills are better will beat me every time except the occasional help from SDS RNG lol
As a player who has spent a lot of time playing H2H over the last half decade, I have to disagree. From the automated diving by infielders, to outfielders locking into animations an absolute mile from the ball and automatically completing plays with minimal user input, to the game arbitrarily deciding to hang a perfectly thrown off speed pitch in the zone regardless of input, I have to say this is the least skill based iteration of DD in H2H play I’ve seen yet. Indeed, if there is a skill gap this year, it’s merely that the better player is the one who has the ability to swing earliest at a pitch, regardless of PCI placement. That’s not reflex or stick skill, that’s button mashing.

Not everything is about just attributes though. Chipper has one of the best (the very best in my opinion, but that's subjective) swings in the game. He is also not 5'9 like JRam which to me is a big deal. And last but not least, JRam is a lefty killing switch hitter but there aren't all that many dominant lefty SP in the game. Chipper is the traditional stronger hitter from the left side who will take his at bats from the right side if he has to and therefore he's more valuable in my opinion as well, because he will face more righties than lefties.
I have JRam, and he's not even on my bench while I just put in a 1M order for Chipper and I'll play BR in the meantime to get him myself before the order goes through.
Thank you for your opinion. I see where your coming from. I used Chipper and couldnt stand him so the whole swing thing doesnt really hold water for me. JRAM is my new starting 3b and has 6 homers in 10 games. Everyone was bashing the cost to unlock him but are happy to throw a mil at a similar card if not slightly worse
I'm with you man. I've only used JRam in a few games since I've gotten him but considering the stats I would easily go with him over Chipper. Maybe if I had a shot at actually going 12-0 and getting Chipper for free I would get him but paying 1M stubs, no way. The cost of JRam isn't even that bad really. I might have spent 100k or a little more to get the TN cards that I needed and all the missions and moments go by pretty quickly. Chipper is one of those cards that people get all hyped about every year and he's a lot peoples favorite. They like the switch hitting ability and most people are in love with his swing. I've used versions of Chipper in the past but haven't had the same results as others. Solid card for sure, but not one that I would spend 1M stubs on in my opinion.

Lmao that's funny. I've been to Florida a couple of times, I visited UCF in Orlando and FSU in Tallahassee. And also the beaches in Pensacola, very nice over there.

If only Attributes made the cards great lol. That wouldnt explain LS Buxton all year with crappy hitting ripping gappers and homers left and right. It is all about the card not the attributes. Chipper usually rakes for most.

Funny thing is they want it because it’s a 99, not because it is that much of difference between his prestige and sig card. Cbrev has shown you can make WS without a god squad

SDS has done a good job with providing a diversity of content this year.....for an example, those folks who are unable to acquire 99 Chipper and/or 99 Gerhig and/or 99 Wagner can have access to comparable replacements in Jram, Ruth, and Crochett...etc.
That is really cool how SDS did that...A lot of other game platforms (that I will not mention) are much more greedy/cruel/stingy in how they release content.....SDS found a good balance in that this year. Some people prefer to pay, some grind, and others prefer to perform in order to get top cards....all can be satisfied this year. -

Is the card worth a million stubs? No. Would I happily pay a million stubs to use my favorite player's best available card? Absolutely.
But I literally can't. Which is I think the big glitch with the decision to make him Flawless.
But at least they did provide the Boss version that can hit Prestige. It makes the sting a little less but it still sucks when Chipper's final card was one of the few things I was looking forward to this late in the year.
Wasn't he a WS reward or BR reward last year too? I remember I paid a lot for him last year but certainly not 1million.

Ha I stopped playing that garbage (and every other EA game) many years ago, despite my love for soccer. It's a shame, because soccer runs in our Dutch blood.
But yeah my love for baseball started when I was a kid, my former next door neighbor was a coach with our national team and he brought me along a few times which was fun. In later years I played a bit myself and I always followed MLB since. Our national team today is also pretty decent with guys like Xander Bogaerts, Didi Gregorius, Kenley Jansen, Ozzie Albies, Jonathan Schoop, Juricson Profar and Andrelton Simmons so I always follow them as well.
