Wrong players on\off my team (Reds)

I usually play the "Play Now" mode (Reds) and the updates don't seem to do anything. There are players that are no longer with the Reds on the team and players that ARE on the team that aren't there. Plus when I click on "current rosters" it is the SAME roster every time. Do the updates only apply to Franchise mode or what? Appreciate any\all help ! Thanks !

Thanks to covid, taxi squads, mlbpa clearances and the like, rosters are what they are this year.

Yeah i just noticed Travis Jankowski is a free agent after the roster update, but he's still on the Reds 40 man and was on their playoff roster. Not that he contributed at all. And for the record, the game loves Winker, especially in Showdown. Great bench guy.
