I’ve opening so many thousands of packs throughout the years of the show. Years ago, when I first started, I actually thought this was how you get players. So that was how I’d spend every stub. Obviously, my own fault. Not mad at that at all. But it’s sort of become a habit, and almost daily I’ll rip packs and almost daily I lose stubs on them. Lol. My own fault again. I’m a gambling man.

Now I get specialty packs with new players, 10000%. But that just leaves me wondering, is there a legitimate reason for Standard packs to be available for purchase other than gambling? Or is it just for suckers like me?

It is the risk you could get a pack of commons for 7500 or a trout for 7500. Last year they had standard and show packs.

Standard packs aren't bad for the first few months of the game cycle. But once the 85-89 live series diamond prices drop to quick sale value, they're worthless.

Also, they should reduce the price back to 1000 stubs. 1500 is too high, even in the first few months. #hottake

Yeah you definitely make more of your stubs back earlier. But I’m still wondering what the actual point of them is, other than gambling? My hot take is I’d wish they just get rid of them lol. For my health.

Didn't the price used to be 500 stubs in MLB 18?

I think that was at the end of the year that they discounted them like that.

I can see having the price high for the first few months but come July they should move them down in price because it makes no since to buy them when most of the guys in the packs are going for quick sell or just slightly higher for the diamonds.

It seems that was the last time that they discounted them for the rest of the year, too. I don't remember them discounting packs in MLB 19.
