SDS wants to ensure Yankees have greatest team

TO THE OP:
This is one of the dumbest things that I’ve ever read on these forums. I get it you’re a Mets fan... Yankees get all the headlines... Yankees win... never hear anything about my Mets etc etc. Be realistic, you literally pointed out a Mount Rushmore of not just the best players in Yankees history but in the history of the game. I may be a Yankee fan but I’m realistic, I’m not a homer by any stretch. If you want to complain about the Giambis or Tinos etc.. ok I get your point Mets fan, but who do you have that holds a candle to that trio? Nobody. C’mon man cry somewhere else. There are only a select few players in the history of the game that are up there with the three names you just listed. All TIME GREATS like Mays Aaron Foxx etc.
if you want less Yankees I get it. Like I said it wouldn’t even bother me. I’m a Yankee fan who also loves the history of baseball. So sure I’d love to see more teams’ players represented. I would think you’d want fewer Braves before you mention the Yankees. But unfortunately you’re a “typical Mets fan” more worried about your crosstown rival instead of the rivals in your own division! Lol it’s laughable, Mets fans have had issues with the Yankees forever, while of the majority of Yankees fans could care less about the Mets except for when they play each other.
And hey you want to be happy for something? Nido got a Topps now card earlier this year for hitting two home runs one a Grand Slam. Higashioka hit 3 bombs in one game and didn’t get a card. But you don’t see yankee fans crying about the Mets. Lol keep crying over the best to play the game of baseball being included in this game simply because they are Yankees... great look typical Mets fan... great look... -

I dont think they have to. They have a super long history, have pumped tons of money in their team since it existed. Ensuring they always steal away the best players. Heck didnt they pay cash for babe Ruth? And always spend the most money or willing to since the beginning of time. It wouldnt make any sense if they didnt have the best players throughout history.
Most teams today could not match the players the Yankees had if the Yankees didnt use any players past the day those teams franchises were founded.
The Yankees didn’t buy all the best players throughout history lol. That didn’t start until Steinbrenner bought the team. As far as them purchasing Babe Ruth, they actually saved the Red Sox who were in financial ruin, going bankrupt. They sold off players to save their team. The Yankees kept them afloat. Most of the Yankees World Series wins came well before free agency was even a thing. Back in those days once a player was on a team they STAYED on that team unless traded. Buying great players doesn’t always mean winning as the Yankees have done a lot of that also.

I wasnt talking about FA in particular. I just meant they always had the most money and could pay to have the best players. They were gonna keep who they had. Where all those other smaller cities, including teams in their own city had way less to spend. Those great players became Yankees because of money.

With regards to market size and financial advantage, the Mets have played in the same city as the Yankees for almost sixty years and they have two WS wins.
-
You'd think San Diego would he salty at the Yanks. The Padres were robbed in 1998. Tino Martinez was out back then.
'Dat wuz skrike 3, meng!'
But SDS knows the Yanks have the richest history.
That said, where's the Bernie or Jeter, or Matsui cards?
Then I'd say they favor the NYY. -

Make that 2 QUALITY WS wins. 2 of the most memorable WS wins in baseball history.

Mantle, Ruth, Gehrig....
Braves close second
Nah...it's only cuz I'm Sox fan and the Yankees just have to be better.

It’s not fair that they exclude Mets legends like timo Perez and Luis Castillo. At least make a Bobby bonilla card that costs 10k stubs up front and 1k every week afterwards.
Believe it or not ichiro actually has a better deferred money deal than Bonilla did. Ichiro will get $5 mil a year plus interest through 2032 from the Mariners.

This comment wins the internet for the day.
I have to agree! That comment got my laugh of the day

I was just trying to make the Mets fan feel better. They require a lot of coddling.
