I’ve seen a lot of people talking about PCI with numbers, for example: “PCI 14 with good swing”

    What does it mean?

If you press pause during a game and go to the tab 'Batter analysis', you can scroll through all the data on your swings for that game. You can find contact rating there and the game assigns a number from 1-15 or a P (which means perfect), where 1 is the worst and 15 is the best possible PCI placement (other than P, which is obviously the best). This gives you an indication of how well you placed your PCI when you made contact with the ball, but timing also matters obviously. So you can get a 14 but when your timing is late/early you won't get a good result.

So people who get a 14/15 with good timing but not a good result (a hit) are often inclined to complain because they had good input, which should be rewarded more often than not.

    Oh, thanks.

I’ll check that next time I play. I’m usually below the ball with my PCI, I can’t complain too much

It's just a way to see your actual input. Don't put too much stock in it, because you'll end up disappointed like the rest of us. You can have 10 outs all on perfects/15/14 rating.
