Was wondering if Piazza would be much of an upgrade over Finest Realmuto? He's been a solid catcher for me

You’re going to take a major hit on defense, but if you don’t hit well with Realmuto then it could be worth the boost in offense.

Im hitting about .330 or so with Realmuto online which is decent for me, so if Piazza is a force at the dish i'd take the defensive hit

I’d just stick with Realmuto then.

They both are very alike in most attributes, with the exception of J.T.'s speed which can be a huge difference maker when running bases & scoring from 2nd on singles. This is why I stick with Pudge over Piazza, due to that extra speed Pudge has.

J.T. is on my wish list, hopefully I acquire him soon.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't J.T. completely free to get by now? Buy Finest cards for 5k, lock into set, then quick sell the cards to recoup the 5k.

Or is Realmuto not in that series of cards that you unlock when getting Finest Yelich? I forget, I did those sets a long time ago.

Also, I believe Garret Cole is free by using the same method.

That's why I said "aquire" him, NOT "buy" him. I didnt get enough Finest cards yet to get him via the rewards at the time I made that comment. But I did so today & now I officially do have him. I wasn't focusing on getting Finest cards like that mostly because I hate how they look face wise as to the SS cards, but when I started noticing the attributes & comparing them to SS cards, it was a no brainer I had to start getting more Finest cards to improve my DD team. Thats why I started late with that collection.

JTbis the most well rounded catcher because of the speed factor. Piazza is a better hitter by a lot

I completed the finest set to get Realmuto and the card was worth getting he has pretty good hitting stats, 82 overall speed, and a great defensive catcher the computer puts low in my lineup when I used the autofill for the lineup, but he's pretty good overall.

If you can hit with Piazza' long swinging motion, all the power to you. I can't hit well with Realmuto, but having that speed when he does accidentally get on base means I never have to put in a pinch runner for a slow catcher to stay out of the double play. This frees up an extra bench seat for me because a backup catcher is irrelevant in a game that does not allow for injuries to position players (As opposed to MLBTS 16).
